The premise that turning in private property to the government to be destroyed will somehow save a life is unquestionably accepted. What stupidity and ignorance.

They call an accidental shooting “violence”. What’s going through that train wreck of thought, I can’t imagine.
To: marktwain
“Accidentally”? I thought there were few if any “accidental” firearm discharges, but many negligent ones. (ie. it’s not the gun, it’s the owner.)

At least you now know what business to never do business with. Just hope the ignorance of there is not catching.

Carons said. I really do appreciate it. My son, Nash, appreciates it. Hopefully it will save a life or two. Dear Ms Carons. You are a moron. Your son is a moron. You should never have bred. Your son should never breed.
newly reinstated Portland Police gun task force
Once again the police have their fascist fingers in an attempt to diminsh our constitutional freedoms. It is apparently the natural tendency for all government bureaucrats (armed and otherwise) to want to disarm all citizens domestic animals so as to better control, harvest and slaughter them.

Aside from the “family members” whom we wish would never inherit our guns or anything else; this is nothing more than manufactured propaganda. By the way can you think of a better way to dispose of a gun that had been used in a crime?

The group worked with the newly reinstated Portland Police gun task force to host the event. The police involved in this horrifying event should be indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with deprivation of rights under color of law, under US Code Title 18242. There should be a count for every gun taken from a citizen, for every infringement of the right to keep and bear arms.
These policemen USED THEIR POSITION to subtly threaten citizens to give up their rights, and they did it under color of law. Throw the book at 'em. Title 18242 specifies TEN YEARS per count for violations involving the use of a deadly weapon. And you know these cops were armed while taking the citizens' arms.

For each gun turned in, the owner received a $50 Fred Meyer gift card. Damn. I wish I could have been up the street with first right of refusal. Hey, buddy, I'll give you $50 and a coupon for a Big Mac, or tofu burger, whichever...

I've got a broken old single-shot 12 gauge that I've held onto since the early 1980's just for an opportunity like this. I only paid $50 for it when I bought it new.
If some liberal was stupid enough to buy it "back" from me for $50, I'd jump at it.

Years ago I read of a gun buyback in which a widow woman turned in her deceased husband's two guns, a mint condition 1911 .45 auto and a 1903 Springfield.
The cop recognized them as collector's items and suggested she have them appraised as they were extremely valuable.
The cop was reprimanded for letting these guns “escape” their turn in.

So, Ceasefire is now operating as an FFL without a license as are the Portland PD.
Someone in that local should file a criminal complaint.
