Mr. Cain did support the concept of TARP early on, with the limited info he had. He reversed his position when he saw how it was going to be implemented and started speaking against it as early as Jan 2009.
I have followed, read and listened to Herman since 2004 and one thing I know is he is NO big govt shill. He has spoken against govt abuse and overspending the whole time holding Republicans to the same standard. So his misstep on TARP is not an issue for me as it follows no pattern of behavior. Every candidate will have things they would have handled differently, what people are looking for is who represents their values most closely and consistently.
For me, that is Cain. I have spent two years looking at the histories, qualifications, character and decisions of all the main candidates and there are only 3 I would feel confident voting for. Herman is the top of my short list.
