Allen said that he would not restrict abortion during the first trimester, since at that early point in the pregnancy, it is not certain that there is another person involved.
...

Having invested much of his political capital in Arlen Specter, Allen will suffer if Specter blocks Bush’s initiatives or judicial nominees.

Can someone provide more details about these two interesting points about George Allen? He does not think there is another person involved in abortion and he invested much of his political capital in Arlen Specter?

Don’t look back. The climate has completely changed and many Republicans have seen the light.

Its important that Virginia becomes a “red state” again in our fight to win the Senate and to get ride of ObamaCare and to keep the cuts going.

I agree with this sentiment but George Allen will cheat us once he wins. Just as Boehner has cheated us with his 38 billion dollar budget cut. Behind the scenes they cut deals and gang up to cheat us. The rhetoric never matches the record and George Allen is one such person who is a cheat. We need to support the Tea Party candidate and throw out George Allen.

Jeremiah 1:5 would relieve his uncertainty!

Was it Allen that uttered "macaca"? I was previously unaware of the word (or slur), but the context made me believe that 1. He doesn't stand up well under pressure; and 2. He is not at all the persona he pretends to be, i.e. a phony politician.

I take anything I read in the ‘Roanoke Slimes’ with a grain of salt. They are the NYT of SW VA.

George Allen was an excellent senator and a reliable Republican vote. If he hadn’t forgotten public relations 101, he might well have won the Republican nomination in ‘08.

Too many conservatives have acquired a seriously self-defeating habit of expecting all Republican candidates to be without fault of any kind. It’s asking the impossible of any human being to expect 100% agreement from them with your individual opinions.

“without fault”??

Being pro-abortion to social conservatives is not a minor fault...that is a game-ender.

We need to flesh out Allen’s position on this issue.

A minor fault may be the candidate voting for a 20% tax cut rather than 25%, etc.

Bullshit! George Allen has a long and distinguished record as a principled conservative Republican leader!

I hope the GOP in Virginia can come up with a candidate who has served their country in uniform. The spoiled conservative boys don’t do us much good.
