I just completed an ITIL course 3 weeks ago, taught by a Dutch man. He and I chatted quite a bit during class breaks. Though he has been living in Miami for 8 years, he told me he still didn't understand the American 'fixation' on owning guns.
Ironically, he also said no one in the Netherlands had guns and, because of that fact, they never had shootings like the ones in the USA.

It’s not that they don’t have shootings, it’s that when you know & people are defenseless, you can take your time in taking them out.
The old country Dutch will find out soon enough... again.

You should have pointed out that Holland fell within days, if not hours, to Germany in WWII because nobody had guns.
