Re Donald Trump Gets Weirder, by Gail Collins (column, April 2):
Even before Gail Collins was with the New York Times, she has written nasty and derogatory articles about me. Actually, I have great respect for Ms. Collins in that she has survived so long with so little talent. Her storytelling ability and word usage (coming from me, who has written many bestsellers) is not at a high level. More importantly, her facts are wrong!
...I don't need Ms. Collins's advice. There is a large segment of our society who believe Barack Obama, indeed, was not born in the United States. His grandmother from Kenya stated, on tape, that he was born in Kenya and she was there to watch the birth. His family in Honolulu is fighting over which hospital in Hawaii he was born in-they just don't know.
He has not been able to produce a birth certificate -merely a totally unsigned certificate of live birth-which is of very little significance. Unlike a birth certificate, a certificate of live birth is very easy to obtain. Equally of importance, there are no records in Hawaii that a Barack Hussein Obama was born there-no bills, no doctors names, no nurses names, no registrations, no payments, etc. As far as the two notices placed in newspapers, some feel the grandparents put an ad in order to show that he was a citizen of the U.S. with all of the benefits. Everybody, after all, and especially then, wanted to be a citizen.
[...]
For some reason, the press protects President Obama beyond anything or anyone I have ever seen.
[...]
Open your eyes, Gail, there's at least a good chance that Barack Hussein Obama has made mincemeat out of our great and cherished Constitution!
DONALD J. TRUMP New York, April 7, 2011

I am not a Trump fan because, in my book, Trump is another person whose great personal success has been built on the pyramiding of debt by the US, public and private. The fortunes of his empire ebb and flow with quantitative easing as we have read for years in the papers.
My thought as well. It reads more like he dictated a recording and it was transcribed by a staffer.
I cant believe the people nitpicking about the writing style. What that means is he probably sat down and wrote it himself. How rare is that to get a rich powerful guy to actually put down what he is thinking without all the polishing and spinning by some minion media consultant to make sure that the sort of prigs who bitch about writing style will approve?
I think i know who Donald trump is although i have never even seen his picture, i have seen this man who calls himself Obama but who in the hell is he? i don,t know who he is or for sure what he is, what is his real name? who was his father? does any one even know?
I totally agree with the plain speech theme. This link goes to what I consider a great example. Hank Williams has been described as having the ability to make everyday simple language sound like great poetry and I agree.

The silence of a falling star
lights up a purple sky.
If that sentence dont get to you you just aint country. Those few words create a world of mental images for me.
THe investigators need to verify each individual on the list. If "Jerimiah Johnson" is shown on the a listing, then the investigators need to veryify the hospitol, doctor, DOB and if possible the whereabouts of "Jerimiah Johnson". If the list is a planted fake then false names may have been placed along with BHO's name.
I hope I don’t get flamed for my bad typing, spelling, and grammar, But I have to say that any time I link on to a thread here on FR about the truth of our leader-in-chief, I am amazed with the people that flame anyone that would like to know 0s beginnings. I hear that it is not important, that it is a distraction, that Trump didn’t write in high enough prose, etc.
Those that think it is a distraction, spend endless hours on these threads trying to make the rest of us feel small for asking questions. I need to know, WHY do you feel the need to do this?
I’m sorry, but I swore an oath to protect the constitution many years ago, and I have never been relieved of that obligation.
To all of you that dislike the birthers STF up and go back to DU where you belong.
I wouldn’t vote for Trump, but at least his voice is scarring the Hell out of the left.
I believe most Americans, or for that matter most people in the world would rather be a jack of all trades and master of none, rather than to just be good at one thing and not have no idea about anything else, gee, that would be a most terrible position to be in.
And i am saying this, giving them the benefit of the doubt about what they think they know.
I dont care where he was born. Not one bit.
And you know what? He never will release the long form. Cause he doesnt have to. He loves people like you discussing that while he goes out and destroys our country.
He is going to be president until he is defeated. Now we can moan and groan and wonder about where he came from but in the end it doesnt matter one bit.
Now you are free to focus on his birth.
I am free to, and choose to focus on what the man is doing now, not where he came from which by the way, he had no control over that.
And with all of the socialist minded people in America today, can we defeat him? without that he would not have been elected to begin with, so i think that is a good question.
The saying is that all is fair in love and war, this is war, fight fire with fire, why not use the tactics that the socialists use? it has been working for them for years on the basis of lies, so why can,t we use it when its probably the truth?
We just need to be real sure about the facts. and if they are correct we need to let the people know so that at least some people who sincerely thought he was the real thing may not vote for him the next time around if they find out the truth.
See the excellent post by Freeper AndyJackson at #135 in this thread, the main takeaway being
I am not a Trump fan because, in my book, Trump is another person whose great personal success has been built on the pyramiding of debt by the US, public and private. The fortunes of his empire ebb and flow with quantitative easing as we have read for years in the papers.
But that is just my opinion with out knowing anything about it.
I think the letter is well written. The grammar is fine. It is short, comprehensible and to the point. But most important, it is accessible. After all, it is a rebuttal letter, not an article.
I agree wholly on your analysis of the letter. It is concise and accessible.
I also agree with your Trump analysis. No one talks about his bankruptcy. I am a New Yorker. I can not forget it.
I am still very glad he is out there getting attention to the birth issue which has been derided and covered up by the media - from the left and the right. Trump is a welcome gadfly.
