We control one half of one half of the policy-making branches of government and have a certified America-hating Marxist usurper in the White House who is actively trying to bankrupt the country, and yet we still managed to get the largest budget cut in history, and that’s only for a half-year budget. Annualized the cuts are almost $80 billion. Given the circumstances, this is better than we could have hoped for, and a lot better than Gingrich ever got from Bubba. If Nancy were still speaker, we would be talking about the biggest INCREASE in history right now.
The real fight is in a month on the debt ceiling, and then in 6 months on the FY2012 budget, and then in 9 months against the leftist RINO Obamaniks for the GOP nomination. We should have always known we’d never get what we really want until we have a bone fide conservative at 1600 Penn. The fight has just begun. This is round one and we won it.
I agree. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Boehner, whom I like personally but have an impression of as being somewhat weak, erratic and disorganized, has only been speaker for three months. He started with a bit of a sputter but seems to be finding his sea legs now. He did better than I expected, but then my expectation of the pubs is very low. But to be fair, he’s not omnipotent and only controls one chamber of one of the two branches involved, so there’s that to keep in mind.
I hope this is teaching the “leadership” that they have to follow the will of those who put them there. Boehner seems to be catching onto that somewhat.
I’m not thrilled with the deal - no conservative would be - but I’m not disappointed, either. The reality is this probably was the best that could be had, and there is more fruit set to bear for us in this deal.
What does disappoint me though is that Reid is taking the fall for obathturd in the eyes of their base.
