maybe try this to get onto that machine -
load microsoft security essentials and malwarebytes onto a flash drive, and boot into safe mode (F8)with networking. Try and run the two or at least copy the programs onto the desktop...
These are the one - two punches for bugs in the last couple of years... and both are free.

Thanks. Might give it a try. I’m so mad and frustrated because it won’t recognize the CD drive or anything. I don’t know if it’ll recognize a flash drive or not. I just gave up on it after FRiends tried their hardest with advice. It can’t get to desktop or into safe mode. What finally killed it was an AVG anti-virus auto update. They admited it was their fault as others had the same problem. But all they’d say is insert the AVG fix-it whatchamadoodle CD... which won’t work if it won’t recognize the bleepin’ CD drive, grrr. I’d get it working again one day or it’s target practice time.
