Obamas chief strategist David Axelrod assesses the showdown over the budget:
Just last year, voters didnt vote for more ideology. But yet they swept in a group that is very partisan and ideological, he said. You see that up in Wisconsin, which has been divided in a war over union rights.
Isnt this like arguing that Americans didnt vote for conservative policies, even though they elected a lot of conservatives? (Notice the term swept in he makes it sound accidental, like America was cleaning the front steps and got careless with the broom.)
Obama argued that his victory was a mandate for his agenda recall, I won. But somehow Republican victories at the Senate, House, and gubernatorial levels carry no mandate; through some sort of giant national misunderstanding, Americans completely misread the agenda of the candidates they elected. An electorate that somehow knew precisely what it wanted in 2008 became careless and ignorant in 2010.

Let’s call this “Condescending Projection”, which is actually two of the major tools of the Leftist combined as a tactic to railroad the thought processes of the American public.
I think this sort of skullduggery, common to the Leftist is quite successful in that it mocks the credibility, scoffs at the righteousness of the efforts of those attempting to fulfill the preferences of the public at large, thus demeaning those efforts, and those that contribute the efforts as the will of the people.
It creates confusion, and doubt in the hearts of those not wholly focused on the topics of the day, which in reality few are.
Confusion leading to doubt opens the door that would otherwise rightfully be closed and secure to the evil that is the Left. Beware the smiling faces.
Other than the lot here at FRee Republic, and similar Conservative oriented sites, I believe most folks are only really half in tune to political realities only awakening to that which kicks them in the butt, and at the time the butt kicking actually happens.
