TRUMP TO OBAMA: YOU'RE FIRED
boblonsberry.com ^ | 04/08/11 | Bob Lonsberry

Trump to Obama: You’re fired.

As kooky as it sounds, as improbable as the whole thing seems, I’m fired up about Donald Trump.

Maybe it’s a commentary on him, maybe it’s a commentary on contemporary politics, but it actually makes sense to me.

We know him, we respect him, we like him.

And that’s two or three better than the others.

Yes, his supposed candidacy is probably nothing more than a publicity stunt, an effort to increase his profile and line his pocket. But then, the same is probably true of Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee and the perpetual never-ran, Rudy Giuliani.

But if he’s serious, so am I.

Mostly, I’m a Romney man. But in a back-alley brawl, I want Trump.

And anybody who thinks international relations are anything other than a back-alley brawl is nuts.

We need somebody to stand up to the Chinese and we need somebody to balance the books. We need somebody who knows how to make decisions and go toe-to-toe with anybody who stands in his way.

And we need somebody who speaks his mind, who doesn’t pussyfoot around trying not to step on toes.

We need somebody who says what he means and feels, and who doesn’t craft every sentence as a sound byte meant to propagandize us.

Other than the hair, Donald Trump looks like America. Not in terms of his outward appearance, but his internal strengths and weaknesses. He is a guy who wears his warts and his confidence on his sleeve. He talks loud, lives big and fills rooms.

And it’s about time we had a president who walked tall.

For more than 20 years, Donald Trump has been a public figure. He has had his ups and downs, his marriages and his bankruptcies. But he has always come out on top, he has always been fascinating, and he has always had the all-American daring do that made this country great.

Certainly, on paper, he’s nothing like a presidential candidate, which may be all the more reason why he’s the perfect candidate.

He hasn’t been polished, he hasn’t been managed, he hasn’t been packaged.

He’s just The Donald.

He says he’s tea party, he says he’s free enterprise, he says he’s America first.

He says we have to balance the budget, we have to stop deficit spending, we have to balance our trade, we have to put ourselves first.

All those things are right.

And for the first time, someone has discussed the birth certificate who hasn’t come off like a psycho.

Personally, I’m more than 90 percent sure that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, just like he says. Personally, I’ve been put off by the conspiratorial birthers and their crazy theories.

But, personally, when I hear Donald Trump talk about this issue, it doesn’t sound crazy. His questions sound reasonable. He says he doesn’t know where Barack Obama was born.

And maybe we don’t know either.

It is interesting that there is no paper trail. I was born in a tiny backwoods hospital that was torn down shortly after I was born. Yet there is documentation all over the place that I was born there, that my mother was a patient there, that her mother paid the bill there, that I was taken to doctor’s visits there.

And I don’t get why it’s not the same way with Barack Obama.

But wherever Barack Obama was born, it is refreshing that Donald Trump would talk about it. No one else will touch it with a10-foot pole. Why? Because they are afraid of looking dumb, because they guard their every word in a effort to package themselves well.

Trump doesn’t care about that stuff.

He is who he is and if you don’t like it you can kiss his backside.

And that’s the sort of guy we yearn for as president.

The ability to lead is an interesting thing. Many people want it, and study it, and presume it, but rarely have it. Donald Trump seems to have that ability. In a roomful of people, he would be the one to whom the others would look.

Whether it’s life experience, or demeanor, or just plain grit, he’s got it.

And the others really don’t.

And if he’s serious, so am I.

Trump to Obama: You’re deported.

Surely you jest.

WHAT other candidate has spoken out about the Muslim menace, the Graound Zero Mosque, the gas crisis, America’s trade deficit, America’s job losses, the Red Chinese holding us in economic thrall, our loss of respect internationally, inflation, the filure to put the best interests of America and America’s solid allies first???

NO ONE.

If they haven’t even got the testacles to identify the problem, they are PART of it. And Trump identifies the problems.

I find the “self promoting” reasoning, silly. He doesn't need any more “self promoting”. He's already famous, already a billionaire.

I also find the shilling for Hillary reasoning, silly. Donald's world is New York. Hillary was a very famous NY Senator. She was very likely going to be President of the United States. If you were a major NY based international business man would you donate to Hillary's campaign? Would you support her? This was strictly business. It would have been no different if Hillary were a Republican.

Trump is for real, he IS running, and he can win both the primary and the general. I like The Donald, I always have. I never really considered him for president, but desperate times require desperate measures.

“Trump is basically a huckster NY liberal with no qualifications for political office.”

I am no big fan of Trump, but he is growing on me because he has the cajones to call out Nobama. What are the “qualifications for political office” that he doesn’t have and who, is electable, that does have them? First and foremost I am open to anyone, most preferably a conservative, that can get Obama the hell out of office. I fear this country will not survive another 2 years of him, much less another 4 years. I will worry about the social issues and other positions later, but you need to have someone tough who can beat Obama. All the candidates out there are flawed, and Trump certainly is as well, I am anxious to hear more about what he has to say. Maybe it’s time to have a successful businessman run this country and not a career politician.

Strip away the birth certificate and Trump really has nothing. No intelligent solutions. No real proposals. Nothing but self-publicizing pap.

I don't know about that, I watched him months ago on Greta & he had plenty of solutions for our country. If he is the candidate against Bozo, he has my vote! I'll bet he'd stand up to the RINO'S too!

Trump is the only on speaking the truth without fear.

Look at this video, see how even Beck and O’Reilly look like a bunch of woosies when talking about Donald. They are showing their true colors.

That’s not so - he has spoken on other issues i.e. trade with China and exporting American jobs. Plus a few other monetary policies....but MSM won’t report much of it. Beyond their paygrade.

Can you imagine a Presidential debate between Trump & Bozo! It would have the highest ratings of any Presidential debate in history!!!

One thing most don’t realize. Trump isn’t allowing the media wonks to dictate the subject matter. They’re intimidated by him and he’s on the offensive.

That is like; “I hate lawyers but when I need one I want the meanest SOB in the swamp.” LOL I understand completely.

Donald is bright, street smart, and is used to a fight. I don’t care if he runs, just keep stirring that pot with a big oar.

"We know him, we respect him, we like him."

speak for yourself. first of all the guy is NOT a conservative, secondly do you know how he made his fortune? he bought apartment houses, and forced them to change into condos. he got his money back (Plus a hefty profit), but the poor people living in them had something like 30 days to buy the condo or get out. THAT's what he thinks of us.

finally his "they don't look like indians to me" comment shows bigotry, and a lack of tact.

the donald needs to quit the republicans, and you need to quit saturating us with this junk

Yeah, I guess Teddy Roosevelt was a “progressive”.

He didn’t support child labor or related issues. He believed in preserving land for future hunters, fishermen, hikers and campers, he wanted a large and powerful military to protect America’s interests.

I love Glenn Beck, but he’s totally wrong when he lumps Teddy Roosevelt in with the Marxists of the Democrat Party, or modern day “progressives”.

I was referring more to Teddy Roosevelt’s attitude, personality and charisma, than to his policies, MOST of which I whole heartedly support.

People should read some of Trump’s books.

His book “The Art of The Deal” details how he bought the Hyatt in Manhattan, and ice skating rink where he was able to turn around government waste, a casino and how he had to deal with rent control apartments in NYC.

He’s a very fair business man with excellent judgement.

People should really read some of his books before making judgement on him.

Yeah, 25% tariff on Chinese goods. Now there's an intelligent solution for you. Seize all the Iraq oil, Libya's too. Iran won't have nukes because The Donald says they won't. Given all that I don't know if the question is whether Trump's positions are above MSM paygrade or below the threshold of credulity.

Other than decades of experience closing deals at the highest level, and negotiating ACTUAL DEALS with domestic/foreign governments, local politicians, and corporations.

Instead of bowing to moslems. And failing to get the Olympics.

Plus, Trump isn’t a traitor. That’s gotta count for something.

Considering most of the so-called Tea Party candidates (Rubio, West) have cut and run and now support Obama on the Birther issue....Trump is the only one with any nads to address the issue

If Trump is the only one who showing some leadership on this issue.....then yes he will get my vote

Me thinks that the opposition to Trump is because, unfortunately, a lot of people posting on this thread supports Obama on the eligibility issue

He has been out talking issues. The economy, the military, foreign policy. China, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan.

It is just that the BC issue gets a lot of attention.
