Oh please! The high end PC I have is on its last legs after 3 years (a good old Dell product), the 2003 Mac PowerBook G4 that is being used to respond, is still going strong after 8 years. PCs are fine if you are British and like computers that are as reliable as the car you drive! Personally I just want something that works every time I turn it on, so it’s Mac for me as it has been since 1987 or thereabouts.

Mac vs PC

There is no difference in the hardware now. The issue is what quality of components you buy for the computer. You have few choices with Macs and too many choices with PC’s.

I prefer Linux. Have used it for over 10 years and although I still have PC’s in my home, I seldom run anything but my old Linux box. It is very very stable and works for me.

At work I have used them all. PC, Linux, Mac and AS400 IBM.

I built my first computer in 1982. Have not always had the latest machine at all times, but have run all MS OS’s and some that preceeded Microsoft.
