Waukesha Co: Human error caused mis-count of votes
WAUKESHA, Wisconsin - The Waukesha County Clerk says “human error” led to not counting several thousand votes on Tuesday night. The adjusted totals give an unofficial 7,500 vote lead to incumbent Justice David Prosser in the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus said Thursday that the votes weren’t reported to The Associated Press on Tuesday due to “human error.”
She says she noticed the error on Wednesday when she came in to start the process of canvassing, or rechecking the numbers from Tuesday’s vote.
Nickolaus says they worked through Thursday to verify the new numbers were correct.
Before the announcement, it was assumed 68-year-old conservative Justice David Prosser’s race against liberal assistant state attorney general JoAnne Kloppenburg was headed for a recount.
But Prosser’s lead is likely to stand if the new numbers hold up through canvassing in all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.
Opponents of the union rights law had hoped a Kloppenburg victory would set the stage for the high court to strike it down.

I’ve seen reports that this only affects the AP’s numbers, and not the official tally. I wish I could find the truth either way.

This is more fun to win this way - let them celebrate and preen over their “victory” and then see it snatched out from under their socialist arses.

The dem commie liberals are finally losing ground to the more reasonable conservatives and republicans.
We can only hope that this is a harbinger of even bigger and better gains for conservatives in 2012.
This must happen if we are to take the country back from the commie leftist liberal bastards currently in power.
In fact, that should be the slogan of the republican party in 2012 - “help us take the country back”.

If Prosser does win, what does this say about the unions? They spent $3 million that could have gone to the 2012 elections.

If this goes Prossers way, Kookyburger’s snotty, arrogant speech that declared victory and thanked Prosser for his service, wished him well in retirement, and asked him not to prolong the process by asking for a recount will live in infamy as one of the dumbest mistakes in modern politics. She was ahead by 200 votes out of over 1.4 million and the votes had not even been certified, they were bound to change one way or the other and she was a moron to act like she had won by a ten point margin. I'm glad it came back and bit her on the @ss.
