"In the event of a government shutdown, some 800,000 federal employees who are furloughed without pay may collect unemployment insurance. Government workers are covered under the Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees Program, which is funded by the federal government, but administered by the states."

"Generally, unemployment claims are filed in the place where you work, not where you live. The states are reimbursed by the federal government for the funds they pay out."

And how many weeks will they get on our dime? The arguement now from the Libs is the same ole story about seniors eating dog-food or starving, children starving, and increased homelessness (oops, sorry, they haven't hit that one yet - give them time).

SHUT THE DAMN SYSTEM DOWN FOR A MONTH AND SEE IF ANYONE NOTICES! AS LONG AS THEY PAY OUR MILITARY AND DISTRIBUTE SS CHECKS, I BET NO ONE CARES OTHER THAN THE PARASITE WELFARE GIMMES.

I DOUBT EVEN THE SOCCOR-MOMS WILL NOTICE OR CARE. JUST STOP FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND LET'S SEE WHO OR WHAT IS ESSENTIAL.

LET'S DO IT, AND TAKE NOTE OF WHAT WAS TRULY ESSENTIAL TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY OPERATE! THEN PUT IT OUT THEIR IN THE SIMPLEST TERMS FOR ALL TO SEE!

I WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPEN!

Agreed.

We know at least 100,000 are unessential - the number 'bummer has added to the payrolls.

if we didn't need them before 'bummer, we don't need hem now.

Besides, if all we're laying off is 'nonessential - then indeed, let's weed them out.

It's fast approaching "Atlas Shrugged" time where for every private worker, there's at least one gov't worker and/or welfare/slacker on the dole.

We cannot sustain. Especially when tens of thousands of the real workers have been put out of their previous jobs and are now underemployed and must work even more hours to survive. And they don't get free medical/dental/food stamps, etc.

How long before they give up and head for the hills?
