Chris Matthews credited the Dumbest Website on the Internet, smear-site Media Matters, with taking down Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck remains the third most-watched cable news/talk show with an audience more than double that of his direct competitors… including Chris Matthews.

So instead of something like 15th, he’s 14th now? Way to go Chrissy.

IF I owned a TV or radio Channel, I would hire Beck to be on the air for hours upon end.....as long as he wanted to be there.

What did Beck do that was so bad? He did not advocate violent revolution or show pornography on screen.

I strongly disagree with his extravagant rhetoric, but that does not mean he should be fired. Same goes for that jerk Keith Olbermann. I don’t think people like him should be fired simply for saying unpleasant things about conservatives.

What ever happened to the old-fashioned notion of ideas battling it out in the public forum. May the best idea win!

Was Beck actually fired outright? If so, why is there no end date given? Why is the ‘end’ sometime later in the year? If he has a contract, are they just not renewing it and/or he wants to go in another direction? Why not get rid of him and pay him off?

Sounds like Beck is not disappearing from the scene at all — I like him, and found he merely CONFIRMED what I already knew or suspected about Zero and cronies well before the ‘08 election. I hope Beck pops up, as he says he will, on FOX and elsewhere once the ‘show’ is over. I assume he will still be on the radio?

Roger Ailes did not deny that Beck was fired from his popular 5 pm show. And it stands to reason. No way Beck would give up that huge platform voluntarily. Olbermann and Howard Stern gave up popular platforms, never to be heard from again.
