.it was only suggested Malcolm X may have had relationships in his life with other men out of "economics and social anxiety" factors [whatever that means, and in particular a white businessman]. He was in prison under conditions thought by some extreme for his crime.

The triggermen responsible for killing Malcolm X, Marable has said are still alive and were never charged. Macolm X wept, Marable wrote, when he heard Stokes had been shot. He presided over Stokes's funeral. Marable was said to have wanted the case of Malcolm X's 1965 assassination reopened and needed to draw attention to his book.
