Its that time of year againtime for one of Mississippis premier road races, the annual Run for the Roses 5K run/walk held each year on the second Saturday in April in the town of Prentiss, Mississippi in Jefferson Davis County. Only this time, its not just your week that will get a workout.
Cindy Shivers Bryan, a Republican candidate for the office of House of Representatives (District 91) which represents parts of Copiah, Covington, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, and Simpson counties, will appear at the Run for the Roses festival to listen to voters issues and to tell more about her campaign. A true conservative, Bryan says her top priorities will be to bring back jobs to the counties and improve the education system.
Weve arrived at a point where many believe government can and should solve all of our problems, Bryan says. But declining revenues and increasing obligations are taking their toll. The state has had to make tough choices and cut funds for even essential programs. Its clear that we have to be resourceful in order to live within our means.
