I just found evidence that Donald Trump at least considered running in the upcoming presidential election 7 year ago. In December 2004 his organization registered the domain "trump2012.com":

I don't care about ancient history. I live in today. I will judge him on what he says and listen to the explanations he gives. Not listen to an anti-Trump, hater.
But why 2012??
Why not ‘08?
OK, who do YOU support, and can they win?
When he set that site up was he planning to run as a Democrat or Independent because from records I have seen he did not register as Republican again until 2009? His party affiliation changes every few years.
When we write negatives about a potential candidate could we cite our resources?
The more I hear what Donald Trump has to say, the better I like him. Gingrich, Romney or Huckabee are lackluster, “more of the same “ quality. We need a real outsider with a proven successful business career to take over this floundering ship of state before it is too late. We may have already past the point of no return, but I think Trump is a passionate patriot who could
accomplish a definite move in the right direction.
“Did Trump support Giuliani?”
Support him?
Hell...he KISSED Rudy in Drag!

Oh yeah...cant wait to see the libtards use that in an ad...
*face palm*
Principles and convictions are what conservatism is built on. Not waffling, flip-flopping moderatism. Trump changing his positions in the last couple months shows he has no principles and stands for nothing.
>>>>>>Not listen to an anti-Trump, hater.
You sound like a liberal plant from DU, trolling for trouble.
Another one of those “for it before he was against it” flip flops.
Fair Weather Repblican.
No thanks.
Well if Trump supported David Dinkins, then I would have a problem.
Fair Weather Republican.
No thanks.
If you can take Trump, then Romney is an ultra-conservative. This guy is just about on the same level as Charlie Christ in Florida. I wouldn't be shocked to see him run on the Democrat ticket. He makes Giuliani look like a conservative. He has a trail of scandal that give a hostile press an easy take down if they wanted, so if he is being allowed to float it is because the MSM is supporting him.
If Trump was Palin we would be seeing a recap of his management of the Miss USA Pagent forever, pounding every day, and his divorces, and his affairs, and his double dealing.. This guy is a Hillary supporter. Are you nuts?
I included Jim in this response because folks are falling in love with Trump and this guy is a nightmare. Folks are acting desperate. Its time for guidance.

That is your problem.
You nailed it — he is a quintessential crony capitalist who will “reach across the aisle” in a skinny minute to jump into bed with whatever union or government official can help him get a deal done.
He would be a cross between McCain and Jeff Immelt — not exactly what we need. But he is showing boldness sells bigtime — I’ll give him that.
Palin/Cain is a winning ticket.
Well he has donated to Tom Coburn, but beyond that, probably because all his buildings and businesses are in Dem-dominated areas (NY, Chicago, etc).
Don’t bet on it.
Trump draws you in. You try not to like the guy, but find yourself nodding your head as you listen.
He’ll win.
Big.
The man who pays the pirate is as guilty as the pirates, for encouraging further piracy.
With America teetering on the edge of economic ruin, we cannot allow ourselves to lose this election because of squabbling over conservative social principles. And that is coming from someone who has fought for conservative social causes all my life. There will be no more Reagans, that mold was used once and broken by the maker. What we need is someone who:
1) has the balls to actually confront Obama on the crap he has been pulling as well as our enemies abroad
2) has the personal wealth to be beyond special interest bribing
3) has the conservative fiscal principles and know-how to balance the budget and eliminate the deficit while there is still time
4) He has the name recognition and favorables to actually be electible
He has proved #1 and #2. I have high hopes for #3 (I would love to hear his budget ideas). And I think he has #4 as well. Who else in the current republican field can match this?
Work to build a conservative senate majority and expand the house majority, they can control the social agenda. We need someone in the WH this time who can balance the books and stand up to our enemies. period.
I for one want to hear it from the horse's mouth with a chance to explain. I understand he has a single payer plan with competition. I want to hear about it. Immigration reform. Send ‘em all back is not a plan. Amnesty is not a plan. I want to hear what HIS plan is.
Why not wait and see what he has to say? Meantime he is the only person to challenge Obama.
