FAIRLESS Hills, PA At an event at a Spanish windmill firm in Pennsylvania, President Obama suggested Americans consider selling their gas guzzlers for more fuel efficient cars. The president chided one questioner, saying: "If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know, you might want to think about a trade-in."
The Associated Press reported that Mr. Obama made the comment "laughingly." However, the quote has been scrubbed from the original linked page.
Fortunately, Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit captured a screenshot:

My 2008 Suburban gets around 17-19 highway on 100% gas I can still get at the Coop.
On E-85, that drops to around 14, and completely blows in city driving.
Haven’t been able to find a hybrid capable of towing 7,500lbs up hill in the snow.
Actually that is fairly common. Too much windspeed will damage windmills, so they have a build in "self-protect device" that changes the pitch on the blades so they can't spin, or even a brake so they don't destroy themselves by spinning too fast (and causing damage) in high winds.
The Left savaged Bush 41 for being "out of touch" because of misreporting the context of his comment on a demo of a grocery store bar-scanner.
He had nothing on Obama.
The guy is worried about high gas prices and islamabama once again shows his “smart ass-e-ness.
We have an old (really old!) motor home that gets 8 mpg. Needless to say, it doesn’t get much use these days. :-(
Rush is on this now. :-)
I’ll buy an electric car if Obama will front me the money. I’ve been eyeing that Tesla...
Then the flag on the limo in post 26 will have to change. Are there any suggestions as to what the new flag should look like?
Back before Yugo, I mean Government Motors, took over I had Cavalier that had over 265,000 miles. A great car. I put nearly 100K on it myself. Only needed the repairs of a car with 1/3 the miles on it.
They wont make 'em like that again until the Tsar of the Ministry of Auto-мобили and the rest of the Soviets are gone from GM☭
Yup! Get rid of the management in DC and let GM pay their own way. OH and right to work would be high on my ajenda if I were running for Prez
Just more disconnected ignorance from the prince of ignorance and lies.

Well, then, Reynolds must obviously have fabricated it. It's a forgery! Paging David Brock, Mr. Brock, please. Please call the office for an important Regime message.
Media Matters will be all over this like a duck on a tiger.
Cyberspace is forever.
Thank god for vigilant patriots and screen captures.
What the heck are “tyres”? Was that Cadillac limo made in the UK?
And the Richard Roundtree headlight housings patterned after a 1914 Rolls-Royce, and the pimperiffic interior by Damon Wayans, and the Rolling Eighties paint job.
Am I forgetting anything?
“Havent been able to find a hybrid capable of towing 7,500lbs up hill in the snow.”
Here’s my yardstick for electric vehicles; I’ll accept them as practical when I see an electric over the road truck capable of hauling 80,000 pounds of something other than it’s own batteries.
This president is way out of touch.
You can’t just go and trade cars. It costs money in the loss on the old one and the expense of the new one.
He lives in a fantasy world of millionaires and vacations to Rio and Spain and Golf.
This guy is a tool of Arab Oil.
I'm shopping for a used car now and have noticed some firming of prices in the last year or so. Any articles or support been written on this? In the car magazines, business pubs, etc.?
You have heard that Dear Leader has a “stash”...but, do you qualify?
The original article appears to be British. "Tyres" = tires, "boot" = trunk, "nearside" = passenger side, "offside" = driver's side, "wing" = fender. And so on.
