Go back a couple months, watch those shows.
I just got Andrew Breitbart’s book. He was talking about when the ACORN videos were being released. Beck was on fire.

No matter what, Beck enraged the left and told them “check these facts for yourself”. His website gave the information and you could research it without a problem.

It was scary for the left.

Bob Lonsberry is a Mormon as well. His words:

To be honest, I’ve become confused and troubled by Glenn Beck. After years of listening and even meeting him a few times, I honestly don’t have him figured out. I don’t know if he’s a prophet or a psycho, an oracle or a charlatan.

Sometimes I think he’s a modern Elmer Gantry.

And that is not a compliment. It is a statement by a jealous competitor who is also a temporary phenom.

The crybabies in their Mormonistic "burning in the bosom" approach really gets tiresome.

Some people on our side have specific problems with Beck, such as those enumerated on this thread. They’re not in any way doing what the left is. They are real problems.

Sure, very possibly he was ordered to take that stance on the naturalborn issue. But that’s a huge problem, in general, with TV people. Rush has dealt with it better. He hasn’t publicly agreed or disagreed, but the fact that he’s put the information out there means that Rush is on the right side, just like he always has been.

I have never trusted people who are given a lot of TV face time. I have always said when the muck hits the air blower, they will be on the wrong side. I have been saying that for years, and one by one, as the conservative TV faces have let us down, I have been right about that.

Beck is like Fox News in general. Anyone who is watching is already converted, so they’re not really helping in any significant way. And they do a lot that discredits themselves and by implication their viewers.

>>Bigot much?

It's bigoted to recognize the factual murderous history of Mormonism?  Nah, that's just honesty.

How's that doctrine of Blood Atonement thingee workin' these days?

How's Mormon Ponzi schemer Jimmy Lewis enjoying his vacation in Federal Prison?   Still climbing the ladder in his magic underwear, is he?

Burrying diamonds in bovine exrement may help bullshyte sell better to the McSheeple - but it doesn't change what it is.

"Buyyyy gooooollllld".

What did it was Glenn exposing the "We Are One" teacher's toolkit with the student pledge forms to be handed out in high schools and colleges.

Teachers Toolkit (pdf)

The pledge form.

AS A STUDENT who believes in acting collectively and who supports workers’ right to bargain for good jobs and a better life, I am interested in doing one or more of the following (please check all that apply):

I want to connect with the union movement on my campus or in my community.

I want to help organize a teach-in like today’s for others on my campus or on a different campus.

I want to support workers’ organizing and collective bargaining struggles on my campus and in my community.

I want to learn about the AFL-CIO’s Organizing Institute programs. Please e-mail me information.

I would like to become a member of Working America, the community and student affiliate of the AFL-CIO. (www.workingamerica.org)

I would like to talk to someone about becoming an organizer for Working America.

That can't be fought, it must be destroyed.

Well, when I stop DVR'ing Beck, I'll probably stop watching Bret Beiar, too...a good news show, but not enough to look forward to watching.

At the very least, conservatives ought to be worried that liberals can shut down a TV show that conservatives like. This is like academia, hollywood, etc.

Jon Stewart has won.

Van Jones has won.

OMG!!!!!
He’s a Mormon!! EVIL!

I don’t give a rats butt what religion Beck is. This is still America and we have that little freedom of religion thing in there.

But hey, if you want to ignore the message because of the messenger that’s your right too. But when I look at the Crayola crayon marked “Bigot”, I see your true color.

Good luck with that.

That is really scary.

I am so glad my kids aren’t in public schools. I will work hard for vouchers (not everyone can afford to homeschool) and charters.

That is where education should be.

Glenn Beck just opened up on his radio show about his future.

First of all, it sounds like Fox News wanted him to stay with his hourly tv program.

Secondly, Beck sounded like he was burned out and he wanted out. But it is more than that. Glenn Beck suffers from ADD or ADHD and he was tiring out of doing the show everyday.

But that isn’t the only reason that Glenn is departing his daily hourly show on Fox News. He said that the show isn’t enough to get his message out. He is going in a direction that will make even Fox News cringe. He mentioned arguing over shows with staff.

He then felt that he was saying things already that put the network into problems and into situations that he felt uncomfortable putting them in. He then also felt that he might be saying too much if he went in the direction he is wanting to go. Basically, Beck said he has come to feel differently about the direction he wanted to take the tv show then he had in 2009 when he started the show.

Beck made it clear the radio show continues and that there is still no final date set for the TV show. Fox News might keep him a while, it is up to them when the final show airs on tv. Glenn wants to honor the originally contract that he signed. As such I read it expired in December, but Glenn also wanted to jump in an sign a new deal early.

Glenn also wanted to do other things. He was unhappy with the constraints that working for Fox News put him. He had to do the tv show when they wanted and he had to work the hours they wanted him to. But Beck has his own media company and he wants to expand it. In fact, he was reluctant to have ever done a tv show to begin with. It took a lot of convincing and what helped was him having issues he wanted to bring to an audience of people who did not ever see him or that he felt needed his message of Libertarian and conservative issues.

He quickly realized that when the original show began, Headline News where it was at, was not enough to get a type of audience he wanted. He felt that CNN was not letting him talk about what he wanted. So he quickly turned down an offer to stay at CNN/HLN and he moved to Fox News, which had been courting him.

But he seems to have burned out of Fox News. In fact he said he needed more help running the tv programs than he was getting from Fox News. He had to bring on people that he paid for out of pocket through his media group to help with research and with the program.

But to make clear he isn’t actually leaving Fox News. He will do other things at Fox News. Maybe appear on shows like his Fox and Friends appearances, do documentaries and specials, and other things he won’t open up about. What he is doing is ending the tv show. But that is all has said. He didn’t say about what Fox News was planning to do to replace him. Sounded like Fox News, might need time to figure it out.

Also to make clear, he stated he is headed in a direction that will be head scratching to the idiots in the lame stream media. He said he would love to get more youth to hear his message. He hired S.E. Cupp to do a daily show online for that purpose of attracting younger people.

He then said the media lies about him and his show. He did not lose advertisers in mass on the TV show. Nobody has 400 advertisers. He also wasn’t fired by Fox News as Good America claimed today. He also wasn’t brought down by the Republican party and he had full support of Roger Ailes.

But Glenn has a new direction he wants to go and wants out of Fox News. However, he still wants to help Fox News out. So he was grappling for months about what to do. That is why he started The Blaze. He felt he needed to bankroll a news site to help expose the real news. That is why he started beefing up his Mercury media staff and started a revamped Insider Extreme and website this past year.

So Glenn basically sounded like he “stuff” he wants to do and a direction he wants to go up his sleeve.

At the end of this feel good story, he stated that there was not one word of truth to it. From that moment on, I always had this feeling in the back of my mind that I just can’t trust his sincerity.

But WHY?

He SHOWED you how stuff can be FAKED and revealed that he just did it!

Now; if he had NOT told you that it was untrue; and you found out from a different source that it wasn't; THEN you might have a reason to doubt.

For political correctness and the African/American community, should Sunflower have been eliminated from the sequence? Of course! However, with the amount of space available on a DVD, the complete sequence should have been included as a special feature.

By denying that she ever existed, Disney has altered a classic. It's wrong. A part of our history is gone. How can I teach my children the sins of the past if we sanitize everything?

INDEED!

Eerily familiar...

Party ownership of the print media
made it easy to manipulate public opinion,
and the film and radio carried the process further.

16. Ministry Of Truth

.......

The Ministry of Truth, Winston's place of work, contained, it was said, three thousand rooms above ground level, and corresponding ramifications below.

The Ministry of Truth concerned itself with Lies. Party ownership of the print media made it easy to manipulate public opinion, and the film and radio carried the process further.

The primary job of the Ministry of Truth was to supply the citizens of Oceania with newspapers, films, textbooks, telescreen programmes, plays, novels - with every conceivable kind of information, instruction, or entertainment, from a statue to a slogan, from a lyric poem to a biological treatise, and from a child's spelling-book to a Newspeak dictionary.

Winston worked in the RECORDS DEPARTMENT (a single branch of the Ministry of Truth) editing and writing for The Times. He dictated into a machine called a speakwrite. Winston would receive articles or news-items which for one reason or another it was thought necessary to alter, or, in Newspeak, rectify. If, for example, the Ministry of Plenty forecast a surplus, and in reality the result was grossly less, Winston's job was to change previous versions so the old version would agree with the new one. This process of continuous alteration was applied not only to newspapers, but to books, periodicals, pamphlets, posters, leaflets, films, sound-tracks, cartoons, photographs - to every kind of literature or documentation which might conceivably hold any political or ideological significance.

When his day's work started, Winston pulled the speakwrite towards him, blew the dust from its mouthpiece, and put on his spectacles. He dialed 'back numbers' on the telescreen and called for the appropriate issues of The Times, which slid out of the pneumatic tube after only a few minutes' delay. The messages he had received referred to articles or news-items which for one reason or another it was thought necessary to rectify.

In the walls of the cubicle there were three orifices. To the right of the speakwrite, a small pneumatic tube for written messages; to the left, a larger one for newspapers; and on the side wall, within easy reach of Winston's arm, a large oblong slit protected by a wire grating. This last was for the disposal of waste paper. Similar slits existed in thousands or tens of thousands throughout the building, not only in every room but at short intervals in every corridor. For some reason they were nicknamed memory holes. When one knew that any document was due for destruction, or even when one saw a scrap of waste paper lying about, it was an automatic action to lift the flap of the nearest memory hole and drop it in, whereupon it would be whirled away on a current of warm air to the enormous furnaces which were hidden somewhere in the recesses of the building.

As soon as Winston had dealt with each of the messages, he clipped his speakwritten corrections to the appropriate copy of The Times and pushed them into the pneumatic tube. Then, with a movement which was as nearly as possible unconscious, he crumpled up the original message and any notes that he himself had made, and dropped them into the memory hole to be devoured by the flames.

What happened in the unseen labyrinth to which the tubes led, he did not know in detail, but he did know in general terms. As soon as all the corrections which happened to be necessary in any particular number of The Times had been assembled and collated, that number would be reprinted, the original copy destroyed, and the corrected copy placed on the files in its stead.

In the cubicle next to him the little woman with sandy hair toiled day in day out, simply at tracking down and deleting from the Press the names of people who had been vaporized and were therefore considered never to have existed. And this hall, with its fifty workers or thereabouts, was only one-sub-section, a single cell, as it were, in the huge complexity of the Records Department. Beyond, above, below, were other swarms of workers engaged in an unimaginable multitude of jobs.

There were huge printing-shops and their sub editors, their typography experts, and their elaborately equipped studios for the faking of photographs. There was the tele-programmes section with its engineers, its producers and its teams of actors specially chosen for their skill in imitating voices; clerks whose job was simply to draw up lists of books and periodicals which were due for recall; vast repositories where the corrected documents were stored; and the hidden furnaces where the original copies were destroyed.

And somewhere or other, quite anonymous, there were the directing brains who co-ordinated the whole effort and laid down the lines of policy which made it necessary that this fragment of the past should be preserved, that one falsified, and the other rubbed out of existence.
