Just to be clear, I'm not saying Walker hasn't done well, or that he doesn't have a very bright future ahead of him. I think he has and he does.

His only mistake, to the extent that he's made any mistakes, is that he let the left's criticism of him and his policies gain a bit too much traction. And, it's not that he didn't fight back. He did. But, he just wasn't effective enough at it. I'm sure he'll learn from this experience, he seems like a very bright guy.

Walker’s peak is at the state level. He’s a tremendous asset to the state, but he’s limited because he is honestly and earnestly focused only on the state. He’s not focused outside the state borders and never has been a media guy. He works to do the right thing as a caretaker and administrator and is not caught up with egotistical notions of serving up a dishing of higher good or fulfilling destiny.

His only mistake...was impatience.

This whole mess could have been avoided if the Wisconsin GOP had waited until after this election, locked the doors and then proposed the changes!

It would have been a slam dunk. No riots, no vandals, no recounts.
