They don’t need a quorom to vote on voter id legislation.
I read that they do, since it entails a lot of budgetary issues: issuing free I.D.'s to all the fictional I.D.-less souls wandering the streets, educating the electorate concerning the new law, etc. Here in Texas, it's going to cost the state a couple of million to implement, according to its detractors. Of course, the actual cost will be maybe a couple hundred grand - much less if we would just stop printing everything in Mexican.
The vote ID issue came up at a town hall meeting I attended. People have been begging them to pass something. People were saying they knew that this election would be stolen and they were asking for something to be in place.
We were calling, emailing, attending town halls and pushing for it and we were ignored.
It was stuck in committee. They were dragging their feet. It should have been the first thing the repubs did when they got into power.
It may be nigh impossible to pass it now.
