Wisconsin City Caught Destroying Ballots
Pundit Press ^ | 4/6/11 | Thomas Ferdousi

Posted on 04/06/2011 1:44:56 PM PDT by therightliveswithus

As if the situation in Wisconsin wasn't tense enough, it appears that one county in particular is going to a new extreme. This comes after word that there may have been voter fraud in the nonpartisan State Supreme Court election yesterday between incumbent David Prosser and JoAnne Kloppenburg.

For some reason one of the counties in the state is destroying ballots that 'were not counted' yesterday. Apparently this is a very bizarre and egregious move.

There is now a call for an injunction to preserve the 'discarded' ballots:

I have filed a Wisconsin Open records request with the City of Mequon demanding any ballot submitted but not cast in yesterday's election, including any remnant of a shredded ballot. We have received reports Mequon poll workers destroyed submitted ballots before poll closing time, demanding a driver’s license number from the absentee voter. This request is unusual and the destruction of ballots is of grave concern, given the closeness of the state Supreme Court election. I will consider seeking an injuction to back up my request if Mequon officials are not copperative [sic]. Mark Belling, April 6, 2011

It’s time we contracted privately for third parties to run elections. The people that are running them, the town clerks etc. are members of a union just like the police.

It’s like asking the fox to count the eggs in the hen house. You can’t trust them.

Maybe Iraq can run our elections for us.

I just don’t get it. Wisconsin isn’t huge, our electoral votes are minimal. Why all the focus on us? We aren’t going to decide a national election.

It doesn’t matter. She is a local government employee and thus a member of a union.

I think it’s because we’re so sharply divided so closely down the middle. Any lib victory can be used as a shining example by them, sort of saying “Look what we’re up against.”

The vote ID issue came up at a town hall meeting I attended. People have been begging them to pass something. People were saying they knew that this election would be stolen and they were asking for something to be in place.

We were calling, emailing, attending town halls and pushing for it and we were ignored.

It was stuck in committee. They were dragging their feet. It should have been the first thing the repubs did when they got into power.

It may be nigh impossible to pass it now.

"Nobody has ever gone to jail for vote fraud."

Wrong, happens all the time.

Even in Cook County.

And the WI RNC won't do crap about it either which will embolden the libs. Pay attention the events over the next few days, we'll be seeing it in earnest throughout the country in '12.

Wasn’t that the full name of the total rat party since around the time of the New Deal?

Anyway, you should can the snarky tone. Save it for the rats.

Watch Belling. He is PO’ed like the rest of us Conservatives who live here. He uses his public personna and position well to get things done.
He’ll be all over this incident and others.
Also, another vigilant talk show hose, Vicki McKenna, is asking voters to document fraud that they saw being committed on Tuesday.
What the end result will be is anyone’s guess but at least they are doing something!!, unlike the rest of the media.

This is only going to get worse.

Remember, those who count the ballots are fighting for their jobs.

I disagree strongly!! WI matters now because of the unions, male no mistake. They want their dues taken from paychecks, they DO NOT want the employee (we don’t have workers in America!) to be counted on to voluntarily send it in. The unions are the dems slush fund, and both get power using union money. Don’t doubt the lengths they will go to keep the power, either of them.

Yep, if union members are forced to voluntarily send in cash to the unions the Democrat party would fade away.

I’m never buying WI cheese again

don't cut off your nose to spite your face....the southern corner, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Madison are ultra liberal....the part of the state that cheese comes from, the north, is fairly conservative.....just not enough people

ALL VOTES ARE CRITICAL....Wisconsin is my home state and I'm ashamed of the virtual socialist takeover of the state. Wisconsin has become the laughing stock of the country. Your teachers union is in this battle for the benefit of the union leaders period. They could care less about the rank and file. When the members wake up and figure out that they are being used as pawns to save the union leaders.....maybe they'll throw them out. It is pitiful when two parties, unions and government are argueing over someone else's money (taxpayers). Unions get the money and Democrat politicians get their votes....hell of a way to run a country. First thing that should be done is that the state stops witholding union dues from state employees. If the unions want their dues, send the members a dues notice. If the members really think so much of the unions, they will pay them (they won't) and the unions know it! Also, no more mandatory membership requirements to get or keep a job. that would somewhat level the playing field....everyone useing their own money

I wonder how often this sort of thing happens? All the damn time probably. Nice to see them getting caught for a change.
