I have thought about the land of my ancestors...Poland. Still relatively homogeneous (97% are ethnic Poles, I think only Japan exceeds this). I suppose it was the one silver lining of being behind the Iron Curtain, that it restricted the flow of immigrants, unlike most of Western Europe, I’ve started to look at the Highlands area, around Zakopane, it’s real beautiful there.
As long as the Russkies don’t start making trouble there again.
My mother’s side is Polska-From the Kracow area. I’ve often wanted to travel there to see it and consider settling if they keep following more sane policies.
Zakopane has become a Vail, horribly commercialized, from what I’ve read. Western and Eastern Karpatian Mountains look much better now. I’m thinking too.
