Holder's ungracious punt
NY Post ^ | April 05, 2011 | Editorial

It took 500 days, but President Obama yesterday abandoned his ill-conceived effort to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed in a civilian courtroom.

Attorney General Eric Holder was none too gracious about it, however.

It was back in November 2009 that Obama and Holder docketed KSM and four confederates for trial in New York.

An uproar ensued -- understandably -- and Congress promptly outlawed the movement of Guantanamo Bay detainees to the US. There the matter stood for some 15 months -- until yesterday, when Holder announced that the deadly quintet will now return to military commissions at Gitmo, right where they started, and right where they belong.

The AG, however, felt compelled to wag his middle finger at Congress, the CIA and the American people: "Members of Congress simply do not have access to the evidence" to determine where the trials should be held.

Asked by reporters whether Congress reflected the will and wisdom of its 300 million constituents, Holder smoldered: "Do I know better than them? Yes."

He next accused critics of using the trials to "scor[e] political points."

(Politics? He should know. Yesterday's announcement came on the very day that Team Obama kicked off its 2012 reelection bid -- and getting KSM & Co. off the radar screen won't hurt that effort.)

Then Holder sullied the CIA:

"There is no other tool that has demonstrated the ability to both incapacitate terrorists and collect intelligence from them . . . as our justice system."

That's a breathtaking claim, without a shred of evidence to support it, as far as foreign terrorists are concerned.

Do I know better than them? Yes...

Kind of sums up the whole Obama mindset, doesn't it?

You think maybe he failed to properly advise Congress?

He’s a short-timer. As far as I am concerned, he can spend the rest of his life sulking at his house.

"Members of Congress simply do not have access to the evidence" to determine where the trials should be held.

Mr. Holder, the only evidence necessary was a giant hole at WTC, in the side of the Pentagon and a field at Shanksville, PA. We already have their admission. Case closed. Fry the SOB's.

"Do I know better than them? Yes."

So typical of the progressive mindset. Scratch a liberal and not very far under the surface you find an elitist.

These barbarians launched an unprovoked attack against this country, dressed as civilians. That makes them spies and saboteurs, and eligible to be hanged period. There were no trials in civilian courts for Nazi spies, same logic should apply here.

Let’s NOT fry them. Why? If we kill them, then the Muslims will make martyrs of them. Let them languish in prisons for the rest of their lives.
I know, I know, it is cheaper, easier to kill them... I wish!

Yes, it - our justice system - did such a great job preventing 9/11. Holder is a dangerous idiot, like most of the other members of this administration.

What an interesting coincidence. Obama launches his 2012 campaign on the same day that Holder announces the trials of these terrorists will be military one after all. Could it have anything to do with the large percentage of people who believe the civilian trials idea is atrocious?

Now leftists can vote for their benevolent dictator again because he "tried" to "do the right thing" and the appeased independents can vote for him in "good conscience".

Meanwhile, Holder says it's the fault of Congress for politicizing the issue. Yeah, right.

My name is B. Barry Soetoro Davis Barak Barrack Barack Obama. My entire life is a lie and a criminal fabrication. Amazingly, although I lived in abject fear of being expose, I've found that the communist media is willingly to cover-up any and all holes in my Swiss cheese life of prevarication. Here;s what I told you I would do just to get elected:

1. Get rid of Gitmo.

2. End deficit spending.

3. Give everyone free healthcare.

4. Be the most transparent administration in history.

5. End all wars immediately.

What I did was:

1. Ruin the economy.

2. Pay off the unions for getting me elected with fake stimulus.

3. Destroy the housing market, oil industry and coal industries.

4. Raise gas prices over $4 heading toward $6 +.

5. Start a third stupid war for no purpose.

6. Supported muslims and desecrated Christianity.

7. Stuck it to whitey by using the justice department to implement blacks are better policy.

8. Failed to defend our borders.

9. Attacked patriotic citizens called pejorative 'tea baggers' in an attempt to crush America and destroy it once and for all.

10. Apologized all over the world to third-world banana dictators and slipped them billions of your tax dollars to support muslim theocracy.

11. Lived like a playboy king at your expense playing golf, vacationing every week and eating $200 / lb steak while you eat dog food, lose your homes, and die waiting for Obamacare surgeries.

Fooled you, didn't I!
