I understand what both of you are saying and I advised my son to show up regardless of whether or not his pay is on time....BUT he is just relaying what the overall feeling right now is.

There is a LOT that this generation of war fighters have done and put up with. FOUR, one year deployments is NOT out of the ordinary. I’m not an expert, but I’m betting these fighters have seen more combat then ANY other American force. They are being used up and while they are patriotic, hard working, and brave to the marrow of their bones, they (according to my son) MAY not react in a way that many soldiers of the past may have.

While I can’t condone not showing up, I also can’t stand in judgement of these soldiers(or their families) who have laid it all on the line and now may get pinched by the politicians who send them off to do their bidding.
