Not hiding. They are just not wealthy enough to buy themselves a seat in the limelight... where they can hobble the cause with misleading and inaccurate assessments of fellow Conservatives!!!

rationalizing what we had under Bush because you think it is better than today

That is an excellent point. Because Obama is so bad, many conservatives are getting all warm and fuzzy about Bush.

That kind of "Bush was the man" thinking will make it easier for the next Republican president to repeat Bush's many mistakes.

He’ll be a regular guest on the VIEW now that he’s attacked Bush. You do know this article is from 2007?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yeah, I know . . . but he’s also waffled on his stand on abortion, so I’m still not impressed by “the Donald” altho he has brought to the fore the birth certificate thing.

And he did lean over and hold the hand of Karin Johnson (Whoopie Goldberg) and make nice to her when he brought this subject up. She, being a former welfare queen, cocaine addict, prostitute (?), and having killed 6 of her children in abortuaries. I wouldn’t be in the same room with her.

The problem is the GOP.

They aren’t conservative they are working deligently with the Democrats to nullify our Constitution and move us toward one world government.

The last decent president we had was Coolidge.

Bush invented farm subsidies? I tend to remember they existed before Bush.

The border came into existence during Bush? I tend to remember it existed before Bush.

The deficit is now $1,400B. It was $400B 5 years after Bush too office. Unemployment was 10% under Obama. It averaged about 5% under Bush. Which is better?

Try again.

All of our Presidents, including ESPECIALLY Reagan, have failed us there.

After all, Reagan is the only President in US History who granted amnesty to illegal alien invaders. But hey...Bush sucks, it's ALL Bush's fault. Carry on!

Bush’s record does speak for itself. The ultimate judgement on Bush is the election of Obama.

Somehow you think a $400 billion deficit is something to be applauded?

How about a $400 billion surplus?

How about not spending the money on farm subsidies? How about killing the ethanol scam? How about securing our border instead of ignoring?

How about talking to America like a leader after 9/11...what does he say: “Go shopping!”

How about talking to America like a leader after the financial collapse...what does he say: “We had to abandon the principles of the free market to save the free market!”

Again you are rationalizing. Bush was a horrible president, he screwed this country and he was a faux conservative.

The economic growth under Bush was a sham and we are paying for it.

He even supercharged the nightmare of CRA...

It is such a low standard that people like you hold that will continue to doom America. You would be happy to vote another Bush into office - that’s the problem.

RE :” Bush was a very crappy president, Compared to what? Carter, Clintoon and Odumbo are very crappy presidents.

I was at Walmart last week stocking up on SAFE light bulbs thinking about the 2007 Bush-Pelosi energy bill that outlaws them (forcing us to use the new toxic ones) in 2012 and 2013, and forced us on to wasteful dirty Corn ethanol that is starving the planet.

Would Reagan outlaw safe light bulbs and force us to use wasteful poluting corn ethanol?

Thanks GWB!

Why don’t you read about these great economic achievements of the last decade where Bush was the chief executive for 8 of them?

I suggest you get up to speed for what is good for America and not what is good for your worshipped establishment.

Just because Obama is deliberately trying to destroy our country doesn’t make the outrageous and irresponsible spending of Bush good...

“Don’t be tools for this egomaniacal assclown.”

I sure wish that our current slate of GOP prospectives pretended to actually want to be President as much as Trump does.

The GOP slate is much too timid. I like what Trump has been saying and doing the past few weeks. That the supposed “genuine” GOP candidates aren’t doing and saying similar things is what has always had me puzzled.

So in the meantime, I’ll keep hoping Trump does his thing, and that a “genuine” GOP candidate decides that maybe it’s a good idea to actively oppose this idiot administration, instead of appearing to support some version of the status quo.

The unemployment rate was 4% in 2006 when the Republicans held Congress and the White House. Bush took office 5 years prior. The Democrats took Congress in 2007 and things started to unravel.

You are trying hard not to see the facts. Our economy boomed under Bush and plummeted under the Democrats. All the spin in the world can’t change that.

As I posted previously, the immigration problem is NOT all Bush's fault. No President has addressed this problem in any meaningful way.

But Bush did have his turn at bat on this. Eight years worth. And he did nothing.
