This discussion reminds me of the “bring em on” comments early in Iraq. In days of old when the King actually led men into battle I would accept those comments as real bravado, but not when they are made by someone thousands of miles and far removed from combat. I say the same about the good pastor.

Given the experiences of the Danish and Swedish cartoonists and artists* who previously challenged Islamic orthodoxy, I´d say that the good pastor very much has skin in the game.
* I have lost track of the assassination plots and general violence against them. Highlights include having to cower in a safe room while your around-the clock security detail shoots a crazed intruder armed with an axe, people trying to torch your house, being assaulted during lectures, large international assassination plots (yes, plural) against you being foiled by security services in the last minute, etc.
