Gen. Petraeus's ranting gives aid and comfort to the enemy. His words portray a hatred of the freedom of U.S. citizens, and mock the U.S. Constitution Petraeus swore to defend.
And this isn't the first time Gen. Petraeus has spit on the U.S. flag with his arrogant, anti-American talk (see Ben Stein's comments in the American Spectator from last September).
Gen. Benedict Arnold Petraeus is a disgrace to the uniform of a United States soldier.
I couldn't have said it better myself, Carl. Great Point.
Gen. Benedict Arnold Petraeus is a disgrace to the uniform of a United States soldier.
I agree. Also, thanks for the excellent link from Ben Stein from last year about this issue - I will have to share it with those who don't agree with us on this issue and feel Petraeus has the right/authority to stop private American citizens from exercising their first amendment rights.
Although I think Mr. Stein is widely in error to call the quran burning event “religious expression,” it is certainly expression and protected by 1A.
And I completely agree with you that “Gen. Petraeus’s ranting gives aid and comfort to the enemy. His words portray a hatred of the freedom of U.S. citizens, and mock the U.S. Constitution Petraeus swore to defend.”
His remarks, in the minds of the muslims, validate their beliefs and justify their actions. That is the aid and comfort he has given them.
