Two milestones in the long, painful decline of the blue social model were reached this week and reported, of all places, in the pages of the very éminence grise of the monde bleu: the New York Times.
The first was a piece of national and historical news: The Census reported that waves of blue state blacks fled the stagnant job opportunities, high taxes and rotten social conditions of the mostly blue northern states to seek better lives for themselves in the south..

Within those states, Chicago and the city of the New York (widely considered among the most successful cities in the country) are the places Blacks are deserting. 17 percent of the Black flight from Big Blue is from the Empire State; after almost a century of trailblazing social policy, New York State has succeeded in creating the most hostile environment for Blacks in the country...

When whites leave failing blue cities and states, the pundits call this racism: all those white Californians fleeing Nancy Pelosi’s utopia for less ambitious jurisdictions where ordinary people can do things like get jobs and buy homes are clearly pathetic trailer trash hicks too dumb, too selfish and above all too racist to understand the gloriously multicultural blue beauty of California today.
So what are we going to call the young, educated Blacks making similar choices? Dumb cracker racists?
The failure of blue social policy to create an environment which works for Blacks is the most devastating possible indictment of the 20th century liberal enterprise in the United States. Helping Blacks achieve the kind of equality and opportunity long denied them was more than one of many justifications for blue social policy: it was the defining moral task that has challenged and shaped American liberalism for the last fifty years.

Public education being such a dismal failure, I wonder how many blacks know that the man who freed the slaves was a Republican?
They will flee to more conservative states seeking jobs and lower taxes. Then they will vote in the scumbagged democrat leaders to redistribute the earnings of others.

I don’t intend this to sound racists, but as a resident of Illinois, if more of those who are dependent on government handouts and have no desire to take a job if it were offered to them leave the state, the better. It’s no secret that many came to places like Chicago because they could obtain better “benefits” there. This has been going on for decades, but now there isn’t enough money to pay the bills, and guess what? They’re leaving for other pastures - greener AND warmer.
I’m sure many of us would be happy to help them pack.

They have aquired a taste for government money due to the Great Society programs that Johnson inflicted upon them.Don’t expect them to change.

This is a rabble rousing piece if I ever saw one. Multiculturalism does not work. Americans should be Americans period! We seem to be receding from our goal of the ‘60’s to be one people, indivisible. There are political factors trying to splinter us into a widely divided country, which does not bode well of our future. The Left wants derision and division! Let the people of all colors wake up to what made our country the greatest in human history: Pride in the country in which we live,adherence to her laws, and a strong belief in the Judeo-Christian tradition upon which America was built.
I suggest for reading, “The Light and the Glory”, by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. It is imperative all Americans read the deeply researched and very readable and well written book.

How could anyone extrapolate this type of drama from data which spans a ten year period?
Did anyone see ‘waves of black people’ loading up trucks and racing down the interstates? Didn’t happen - not even in New Orleans. Individuals, black & white move for many reasons.
LOL! It had nothing to do with “public vs private” education in that sense. Public schools rarely teach important facts about American history which has been subsumed within their multicultural social studies curriculum. That being the case, the comment about who freed the slaves has relevance. It came right after an exhortation to register these fleeing from the north blacks in the GOP.
P.S. But since you brought it up, you can see the results for yourself usually each year when they give the results of American history tests on the news. They're are huge numbers who don't even know when the American Revolution or the Civil War happened.

Of course, my FRiend. I do not see the Dem party being pulled to the right from this.
The downside is they will vote for the same lying Democrat Hopey Changers once they get down here so that sooner or later the South will be a fetid swamp of big government Democrat corruption just like the cesspools they left.
There were some discouraging comments following a post on one of the icanhascheezburger.com affiliate sites. There was a post about an old Revolutionary War soldier who, though wounded severely, ended up dying of old age at 98. Some comments following the article expressed indignation at the fact that this individual had killed three British soldiers and they simply couldn't understand why he'd done that.
I said multiculturalism will not work in America. Every day we see illegal immigrants coming across our open borders, bringing with them their language and culture. Practically every set of directions includes the Spanish language. The Muslims are pushing hard for recognition and imposition of their religion and Sharia Law, both diametrically in opposition to American law, and the Christian religion. In fact the Christian religion is definitely not taught in the public schools, while foot baths are being allowed. You are only prejudiced if you are against anything but the Christian religion in America.
I know this is aside from the article, but the article brought these things to mind. I think it is great that blacks are moving to where they think they will find a better way of life. More power to them. Let us hope they will earn a viable living and improve their surroundings in a red state.
