I’ve always wondered what percentage of fathers were (unknowingly) raising a child that was not really theirs. My gut tells me that figure would be higher than anyone ever imagined—and not just recently.

this only says that women have different fathers for different children.

It doesn’t say if the child was conceived in or out of wedlock, nor does it say they weren’t in a long term relationship with the father at the time.

Since many women have an early marriage/baby and later marry and have a stable marriage, this statistic sounds realistic.
