Plenty of middle-class or upper-income women have been divorced and remarried or widowed and remarried, and have children who have different fathers. (No, I am not one.) But just on general principles, the Brits can go boink themselves.
You did notice that the study was done in the USA by a post-doctoral fellow at University of Michigan? The Brit papers carry more news about what’s going on in the US than our own MSM.
I would think typically the more educated, upper middle class American women marry and/or bear children later, so by the time they divorce, if they do, or become widowed, and then remarry, they are not so inclined toward having another family. I don’t find any of these findings surprising at all.
I won’t bring up the rumor about Princess Di having 2 children with different fathers.
