I’ve always been told that names that end in “ian” are Armenian. Maybe I was told wrong.

It doesn’t matter WHAT names they are using. That trio was up to no good, there is no doubt about that. Why they are not cooling their heels in Pendleton’s jail while more investigation is done is beyond me.
I’ve known plenty of Armenian Iranians — many left Iran when the Shah fell — and yes, they were Christian. But....anybody can be bought and who knows what this threesome is/was up to. An attempt to get the lay of the land around Pendleton gets my vote. No way should they have been escorted back to the freeway. That’s just NUTS.
Well, at least the two in the Mercedes picked an accurate excuse, lots of “ians” in Glendale.
Some bases are pretty easy to get confused with. Ft Mead is a good example in the they have an employees only exit off the freeway. If you take that exit there is no way to turn around and once there they shake you down pretty good. Not familiar with this base though so it may or may not be an accident.

Well, after reading the article all the way through, my opinion-speculation was obviously wrong, RR.

My gut feeling is "testing." Why the need for a second visit to the base? And the bit about the airbag removed and ducttaped back in place with wires showing would have been noticed on the first trip.
