Hammond: Arizona-style immigration laws would hurt Texas
AAS ^ | 3.30.2011 | Bill Hammond

Texans have every right to be frustrated with the federal government's failure to fix our nation's broken immigration system, but enacting Arizona-style laws would only make matters worse.

The business community opposes Arizona-style legislation and other copycat measures in Texas. We are concerned such laws would increase the deficit, cost Texas jobs and impose an unfunded mandate on local law enforcement while diverting anti-crime resources.

Texas Employers for Immigration Reform (TEIR), a coalition of businesses, trade associations and individual employers, believes that Texas, along with the rest of America, needs comprehensive reform at the federal level to fix the nation's broken immigration system once and for all.

I know it. I’m so fed up with tough-talking guys like Perry who are all hat and no cattle. Frankly I’m disillusioned with the GOP. The guys in Congress are a joke. Did Boheoner cry today? But hey, when Nov rolls around, yeah, I’ll pull the lever for these guys. What other choice do we have?

I’m in the business of growing revenues for businesses. But I’ve got to tell you, there’s a certain point where these greedy business people go too far. They’re willing to destroy Western Civilization so they can beat next quarter’s profits.

I agree, I see that locally too. America has changed profoundly, and a lot of that was intentional.

To think the US prevailed in WWII on two fronts with 187 million people and no illegals, walked the Moon with no global help, and for a while illustrated the success of capitalism and enterprise moderated by Christian values.

* increase the deficit, cost Texas jobs*

Obviously someone who flunked Logic 101.

Increase the deficit by lowering crime and making welfare costs lower. Check.
Cost Texas jobs by getting people out of the labor pool who shouldn’t be there. Check.

....are a group of people who somehow benefits from allowing unfettered illegal aliens pouring over the border. To heck with the rest of us....

I know how to stop that crap. Also the constant interference in how Texas runs its prison system.

Empty the prisons of Texas, and round up as many illegal aliens as possible in the barrio, load them into semi-tractor trailers with DPS and Rangers for armed guards, and transport their ass at top speed up north, and ......

release them in the best neighborhoods of the North -- Chicago North Shore, the Madison campus of the University of Wisconsin, Grosse Pointe Michigan, Westchester County New York, Bucks County Pennsylvania (where the rich Philadelphians live now), Owings Mill Maryland (where PBS lives), and the Radcliffe, Wesleyan, Harvard, MIT, and Tufts campuses -- and Beacon Hill, of course -- in Boston, Massachusetts.

Rapists, axe-murderers, MS-13's, mules, pistoleros, and wet immigrants of all kinds ...... a sea of them ..... thousands, hundreds of thousands of them ...... see how they like that!!

Any state or nation that won’t protect its borders is a traitor to its people.

If ya remember, the congressional elections before last, congressional candidates promised to build a border fence.

Then after the election, refused to pass an appropriations bill to fund the damn thing.

There all in it for themselves. Power, greed, perks and golden lifetime parachute.

I’m sick of it. This is a national security issue, plain and simple.

These are supposed to be the best and the brightest. Either they are incredibly inept or doing this crap on purpose.
