In the Arena: Libyan opposition has less than 1,000 fighters
During "In the Arena," Jon Lee Anderson, staff writer for The New Yorker reporting from Benghazi, Libya, tells Eliot Spitzer that the number of opposition fighters on the front lines are fewer than anyone would think and that they are poorly armed and badly trained. Anderson says, "Effective number of fighting men, well under 1,000. Actual soldiers, who are now in the fight, possibly in the very low hundreds on the opposition side." I think I’ve already noticed the media moving on. Another loss for the messiah, “move along, nothing to see here folks”.
1,000 rebels?
Hopefully so. Libya`s national army should soon be able to mop them up in Benghazi.
We’d better keep pushing back, because 0bama isn’t going to want to lose his little war and the only way to prevent that is U.S. troops. The reward will be a new regime that is either al Qaeda-style anti-American or UN-style anti-American. It isn’t worth a single soldier. IMHO.
Bet it is less than five hundred, you know those poplars rebel’s. Are so supported by the people they are overrun with volunteers. This made up war is total BS.
I've seen that goof with an RPG giving a demo by firing it into the desert.
Where do these guys get supplies?
Is there a local Wal-Mart that has food, water, ammo, gasoline, etc that these people need to survive each day?
Because they are mooselimbs, I know that they don't need toilet paper {except to start their nightly fires}, but just day to day logistics have got to be addressed.
Is that another of uncle sugar's jobs?
they do have rusted-out Toyota pick ups, able to somehow carry 20 men and AA guns at the same time, in true African style - so I guess that qualifies them as “rebels.”
MOmar has MOmentum, what is good for MO is bad for Obama.
What a choice, a Muslim from Africa versus a Muslim from Amer.......Whoops, NEVER MIND!
OK, Barry, wiggle off this hook.
All this BS over a bunch of crazed Muzzies. Damn Obama should have to pay out of pockets for the missles. What a Bozo.
OUCH
Too funny. I tried to post a comment but CNN turned it down. They are such a joke. Can,t handle the truth and lie on purpose.
They are stealing their food off of the locals, like all honorable rebels, but to make sure none of the abused women speak out they kill them.
Well, I’m not worried. After all, this is only a Kinetic Military Action.
Soon to become a Kinetic Military Quagmire.

If they can only come up with 1,000 it seems to me the people don’t collectively want it bad enough.
Whatever “It” is.
You should be. The Big O picked the wrong team again. Just like with everything else. Its like a death nell to whoever he sides with.
I read an interview a German reporter did with one of the rebels.
The rebels broke into an armory in Benghazi and got AK-47's from the 70's and all the ammunition they could stuff into their pockets.
No radios and not many cell towers in East Libya so they have to go into hospitals in embattled cities to find out where the loyalists are.
They want all kinds of goodies from NATO. Including drones (UAVs).
The reporters point was that arming these amateurs is dangerous because at some point someone is going to have to disarm them.
I've found the German reports with the old-fashioned who-what-where-when-why technique to be interesting reading.
Well, I hope so. Obama has already said that he plans to provide them with more arms and ammunition.
Maybe he will also send in some Marines top help “train” them—and just possibly do just a little fighting, too, if his pet terrorists can’t handle it.
Clearly Gates thinks this is stupid, but he won’t put himself on the line to stop it. And hillary is pushing it hard, as her polls rise and Obama’s sink. Why this should help her, when she is one of the primary forces behind this CF, is beyond me. But liberal voters can be stupid.

The videos of the rebel troop/vehicle movements remind me of a Mel Gibson movie.
