Chairman: The Trans-Texas Corridor Isn’t Back
My San Antonio ^ | March 29, 2011 | Nolan Hicks

Posted on 03/30/2011 8:39:01 PM PDT by Tolerance Sucks Rocks

The (two) e-mails poured into our various inboxes this afternoon from different groups — all (both) proclaiming, in one form or another that “the Trans-Texas Corridor is back from the dead.”

One of those e-mails specifically cited House Bill 3789, which was introduced by House Transportation Committee chairman Larry Phillips, R-Sherman. Phillips’ bill would allow for the resumption of public/private partnerships to help finance the construction of transportation infrastructure such as roads and freeways.

Such partnerships had been a key component of building the Trans-Texas Corridor — a highly controversial project that became so politically untenable even its most ardent supporters had to retreat from the idea.

Phillips rejects the assertion that just because his bill brings back public/private partnerships that it means the Trans-Texas Corridor is back from the figurative political grave.

Phillips said that his bill allows for public/private only at the local level, which prevents the formation of a statewide partnership like the Trans-Texas Corridor. He also said that his proposal won’t give the partnerships the power to declare eminent domain, another crucial difference from the Trans-Texas Corridor.

He also said that he was open to including further restrictions on the public/private partnerships, which he described as a good idea that had been “tainted” by the TTC.

Thanks, TSR! They're still talking about TTC69, except they are back to calling it "I-69" and claiming it will only use existing ROWs...

They want to run it to Texarkana. If they do so, it will dead-end at I-30 -- or the Red River -- because AR shows no inclination to continue it north from there.

Well Michael Medved insists that Trans Texas Corridor never existed.

And that only kooks and crackpots believe it was ever even a possibility.

Which means that the TTC probably is back.

I used to listen to Medved, too.
Then, he insulted people who wished to see proof that the “Won” was eligible to be POTUS....people who love and respect the Constitution.

F*CK Michael Medved. He should go back to just reviewing movies.....but, then...I’m not so sure he was good at THAT, either.

Maybe he should sell shoes.......

I hate even the whisper—or thought of this awful idea being brought back up.

Trans Texas Corridor racing ahead

By Terri Hall March 22, 2010

Terri Hall knows her stuff. Read this report from last year and you'll have a good grasp as to just where the North American Union (or North American Community)is. It has not stopped contrary to whatever else you may hear.

“Well Michael Medved insists that Trans Texas Corridor never existed.”

Yea, Medved can bite me also. He shilled for McCain like mad during the 2008 primary season. He got his man...who then promptly made sure that Obama had clear path to the presidency.

So I guess one can reasonably wonder...just who’s side is he on?

Yea, if it hadn’t been for the visual presentation of Gov. GoodHair in a pressromm with a bunch of DOT officials, pointing and talking at a large model in the middle of the room with many charts hanging from the walls, saying this is what Texas would look like after all the infrastructure and new roads were in place, I wouldn’t of believed it either. 8)

You’d need to be a fool to deny it.

Well, what an absolute fruitless waste of time and effort...If the formation of Private Partnerships is what they want, then why have to have a bill to do so...The State got out of this deal last session when we killed the damned funding for this and the other state binding BS from years before that...

NOBODY WANTS THIS DAMNED THING ANYMORE!!!

What part of that do these numbnuts don’t understand...

Looks like I’ll have to give my State Rep and Senator another call this week to go whop some idiots upside the head again and stop bogging down the state’s business...

That, and I have this Friday off...Anyone need me to go light up that place this weekend??? Road Trip!!!

We put this thing to bed and what ever it is that is trying toressurect this stupid thing is going to have to be fully exposed for their tenacity and going against the will of the people...Yet Again!!!

>>We put this thing to bed <<

Did you fall and hit your head? Hell the sheets don’t even need changing yet. It stayed in bed for a couple of hours at the most. Ask Hillary why she went to the North American Union meeting last December. She’ll tell you all about the upcoming trade deals that we have signed with Canada and Mexico.

Get a pot, yes a pot of coffee, read my posts at 9 and 12 and trail every link that you see in the articles. Bring yourself up to date before you call you legislator. That way what you have to say will be intelligent and specific.
