On Sunday, the 43-year-old man's two roommates discovered him unconscious. They called authorities.
Yeah, that's the best time to call the authorities - after your roommate who has been glued to his chair by his own waste for two years finally passes out. Calling before then might be premature.

Maybe I’m looking at this wrong, but the guy may have been mentally ill. And what of the two roommates? Is there any legal sanction against roommates who knew he was living in this condition, and were presumeably feeding him and giving him water?
It’s just too hard to believe that two housemates feed and water the guy, leave him stuck to a chair for two years, and don’t do anything to help him. There’s got to be more to the story.

I love your post. You should post it on ABC’s website.

They were just following Obama's cautious and deliberate decision-making skills.
