Anyone have any idea how much crap I got from my friends when I took up bees in 1980 at the age of 21? It was like I came out of the closet, had a sex change, took dancing lessons, and had knitting orgies with old folks, all at the same time.

It tends to be a very solitary hobby.

I deal with the commodity of honey (as an ingredient) and while I don’t know that much about beekeeping, what I see in beekeeping as another US industry that’s being shipped overseas, because Gov’t and society encourage young people NOT to enter it.

Too bad, because I think the price declines of 10 years ago are far behind us, and there is a lot of money to be made by hardworking people who know how to do beekeeping properly (as you obviously do).
