It’s amazing how many people I’ve talked to who have never even heard the term “butterface” and therefore have no idea what it means.
I think a lot of studies have been conducted over the years which indicate that men would rather have a girlfriend/wife who has a femininely figure, even with a “butterface” vs. a super cute-faced girl with a stick figure.
It’s all about how fertile she looks and if she appears to have a child-bearing figure.
In our society, a child-bearing figure will attract many, many more men than a super-skinny woman with no hips.

Sounds like something Desmond Morris would have written in “The Naked Ape” His description of the reason human primates’ breasts don’t shrink away after nursing had me howling with laughter. Then go “Hmmm.”
Once read an OB/GYN who said his worst nightmares were pregnant women with really narrow hips. That was back in the days before C-sections were used regularly to prevent lawsuits.
And no, I don’t have a clue what butterface means.
