Christmas is the Birth. Easter is the Ressurection. Both are important, but the Resurrection is what is important to Mankind. We can Live Again, thanks to the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Yes, the Secrety Thing. I had a history teacher in high school who was in the Cuban Missile Crisis. And maybe we will now have the Fidelito Muerto thing, but Anoreth is on the wrong side the Panama Canal for that festivity, which stinks.

Cuba Libre!!!

I LIKE Cuba Libres!!!

Secrety things come along with being involved with the military. “Loose lips sink ships.”

My hubby was very circumspect in his letters during the Viet Nam War. I learned before we married that some questions were not allowed.

I’m fond of a Cuba Libre, myself. Ny father doesn’t want to talk about Vietnam. My great-uncle doesn’t want to talk about Okinawa. AAAAAAAGH, says the recorder, but you can’t force them, and they won’t let girls come to the deer cabin or anything, even if they take shorthand.

I assume Anoreth is doing her own archives, having listent to me bitch all these years.

If I could get Himself to tell me all about VN, I’d be in hog heaven. He says he wrote a manuscript and his ex-wife destroyed it. That’s part of MY life and our son’s, so I’m not happy.

He’s older than I am, and has lots of health issues, so I’ll have to try and come up with a way to get the info from him. SOON!

"Fairness" is a subjective opinion. Frankly, I think that it is not fair to pay the same % of income, let alone a progressive % rate. Every citizen ought to contribute the same amount, if not in $'s, then in service or labor. Then when they vote, they might pay attention to what the government is doing with "their" money and employ the requisite disipline.

In the current system, at least 50% of citizens want to rob the "rich" (being ever defined down by the pols who are now experiencing the "squeeze"), and increase government benefits for themselves. Government squandering money is no problem to them. Just increase taxes on the "rich", a totally ridiculous and historically discredited idea.

The system we have now is self-destructive: it rewards and encourages the non-productive, and punishes (or uselessly redirects the activities of) the productive - and the "progressives" want even more of this rot.

Think a little about these two points:

1) The "rich" frequently get "rich" by generating much larger wealth for the rest of society. The right attitude is "we want wealthy people in our country (in our world)! The more the better for all!"

2) The "rich" generally do not consume all of their wealth, they save and invest - to create more wealth for everyone. (They are the holders and protectors of the seed corn). Hence with their wealth they do not compete with the ordinary Joes for food, clothing, energy, housing, appliances, services, etc. (no gross increase in prices for such). But perhaps only with other "rich" for exotic art, rarities, yachts, palaces, servants, commercial real estate, politicians, etc. Stuff the ordinary Joe cares little about, and is only a "what the hell do I do with my money" distraction or hobby for the rich.

Warren Buffet is talking his “book”. He sells life insurance - a big tax dodge for the rich in estate planning.

In this country we pay INCOME taxes - not wealth taxes. So - you are advocating raising taxes on high income earners, not on those with high net worths

Ya gots to be smart - accumulate untaxed wealth - that's the ticket. Poor ole wage trolls. Feel sad!

I believe halal is basically concerned with slaughtering practices. I don’t know a whole lot about it, but it really does taste better.

LOL, why is there a bar over NOW? Does that mean "Not NOW?" A political statement about the National Organization of Witches? And do the flowers over the bar signify "Bury NOW now?" Sorry... need to restart brain (like the computer, which did NOT want to start up this morning)

Good morning, and Happy Easter!

If only we had yesterday's sun today. Grey out, but not as cold as forecast. It was supposed to have started raining last night, but hasn't as of yet.

Happy Easter!!

Church was packed today, including the folding chairs. We had a couple of former Episcopalians visit, folks who remember the "old prayer book" (the one we still use); I would not be surprised to see them come back.

Shoe sizes here are tiny. I bought a headband from Naruto. It’s sand village. In case you wondered.

Feliz Pascua! Did you go to church? Too bad you can’t buy shoes!

We’ll have pictures up eventually: they’re on your dad’s camera. I’m taking Tom over to the Barnards to get their leopard gecko, which we’re taking as a charity. It had better not geck at night!

It’s 87 here. Ash is doid.
