Lakin is in prison because he refused to report for duty. He could have made his request for Obama’s birth certificate without going AWOL.
Are conservatives really supporting a deserter? I’m just baffled at this. People who desert and burn their draft cards and do not report when our nation calls them are people who do not deserve my respect, no matter how powerful their reason is.
If you think Lakin’s desertion is fine because Obama is illegitimate, then you should consider every Vietnam draft card burner fine because they viewed Vietnam as illegitimate. I would have put every draft dodger in prison and I would have put Lakin in prison, too.
You can’t have it both ways if you respect the rule of law.

Wow, seriously??? You are calling Lakin a deserter? He tried very hard to get his superiors to provide him with proof that he was following legal orders. His superiors refused to fulfill his requests.
Lakin followed the constitution as he swore to uphold it. His superiors did not. Lakin is a hero and not a deserter!

HE DID! He requested proof of Obama’s elegibility before the election. He was repeatedly ignored. No one would give him an answer. He is a true hero for putting his neck on the line to rid us of the evil in our White House. That you don't recognize that is very telling.
