I read that Trump gave money to R. Emanuel for his Chicago Mayor race.
To me this could mean two things.
First, Trump could be a dark horse inserted by the international socialists to split the conservative or Tea Party vote. He can draw enough fiscal conservatives to beat a real conservative like Bachmann. He said if he does not get the GOP nomination, he will run as an Independent which only means one thing - he is looking to defeat the GOP for Obama.
Second, Trump could be setting up the birth cert. argument for the fall by ignoring the national born citizen issue that is the legal bottom line of the constitutional qualification issue.

Illinois law placed no limits on political contributions until Jan. 1, and Emanuel made the most of the opportunity. He collected more than 70 contributions of $50,000 or more, accounting for roughly half the $10.5 million he raised by the end of last year. Those contributions alone were more than was raised by all of the other mayoral candidates combined.
Many of his biggest contributors live outside Chicago. He received large checks from New York (the financiers Roger Altman, Ronald Perelman and Donald Trump each gave $50,000); Silicon Valley ($50,000 from Steve Jobs); and especially Southern California, where Emanuels brother, Ari, a powerful Hollywood agent, raised money on his behalf. David Geffen gave $100,000, Steven Spielberg $75,000.
could be just business, he surely does business in chicago, and it was pretty obvious emmanuel was going to be set to win that race.
Trump has investments in Chicago. I’m from Chicago. I could not imagine the likes of Chico and Carol Mosely Braun as mayor. Rahm was the only plausible candidate and for a while there we were all worried that he would not be able to run.
Donald is a smart man and put his money on the right horse for the right reason.
Or - Trump has business interests in Chicago, thinks Rahm’s gonna win, and wants to protect his ass from being targeted by Rahm as mayor.
