It's the latest internet sensation--amateur footage of three red lights in a triangular formation hovering in the night sky above the town of Lafayette in Colorado. The video, shot last Monday, shows that the sky was clear and witnesses said they could not see anything connecting the lights. Leroy Vandervegt, a 50-year-old who has lived in Lafayette for 16 years, shot the video Sunday evening after his 17-year-old son saw the glowing orbs move from south west to south east along the horizon. 'I had no idea what it is,' he said. 'It wasn't a satellite, it wasn't an airplane

Oh my! One of them did that over a neighbors house while carrying a coconut and his entire property smelt of burning chemicals and a tropical drink. I assume he noted the flight pattern, thereby proving the Earth to be banana-shaped?

Pinging the unidentified aerial phenomena list (ufo) ..
May 8, 1950-This is one of the most famous UFO pictures ever taken.
Photographed by Paul Trent, and first witnessed by his wife.
They were published in a local newspaper in McMinnville, Oregon.
Shortly thereafter, the Trent photos were published in Life magazine edition of June 26, 1950.
The rest is history.
(These photos have been deemed authentic for over 50 years. The analysis of the McMinneville photos by Dr.Bruce Maccabee PhD, can be found here = http://brumac.8k.com/trent1.html )
Those interested in the uap/ufo ping list, please Freepmail
Quix, DCPatriot and LasVegasDave (freepmail works best)
if you would like your name added to the list.
( Approximately 150+ freepers are currently on the ping list ).

About 20 years ago Lockheed was proposing a lighter-than-air ASW vehicle that was hydrogen gas based, capable of cruising from a base in California to the North Atlantic area around Iceland, then taking station at around 60,000 feet altitude to observe Soviet submarines. It would be fueled by the hydrogen providing lift, with engines driving propellers capable of maintaining station or cruising as required. I think it was probably much the same craft as your picture shows.

"NAVAIR has done some preliminary work on a conceptual family of hybrid aircraft called HULAs, or Hybrid Ultra-Large Aircraft. Envisioned for several military missions, especially long-range heavy lift, the HULAs would be lighter-than-air vehicles with a payload of several hundred tons. NAVAIR is discussing the concept's feasibility with the Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency"

Yeah, I’m kind of sick to death of lights in the sky.
Some are interesting slightly to a point . . . and do things that no conventional planes can do . . .
however . . . they are still lights in the sky.
