CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein told staffers of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" the controversy over President Barack Obama's birth certificate is a "dead story."
Klein wrote in an e-mail to staffers Thursday that CNN researchers had determined Hawaiian officials discarded paper birth documents in 2001. Thus, he said, Obama's long-form birth certificate no longer exists, and a shorter certificate that is public is the official record.
"It seems to definitively answer the question," Klein wrote in the e-mail, first reported by the Web site TVNewser. "Since the show's mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite (sic). And then it seems this story is dead -- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef."
Klein said Friday he was not ordering CNN staffers to drop the story and that if developments merited more coverage, it would be pursued, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"When I use the word 'seems,' that's an open invitation to disagree," Klein told the Times.
On his show Thursday, Dobbs mentioned the explanation from Hawaiian officials but then questioned why Obama has not shown a long-form birth certificate, the newspaper said.
You are entitled to your opinion no matter how uninformed and illogical it is. If Obama shows a real birth certificate now, it will damage him. There is a US army Lt. Col. in prison for asking Obama to show it and he did not. To show it now would result in it being shoved up Obama's a$$ and show Obama to be a careless, unconscionable, manipulative, deceptive person. (but we already know that)
It doesn’t answer anything. If Obama were born in the US; there is most likely a birth certificate. If he can’t produce one; he needs to leave office because he can’t prove who he is.
Let Klein count the ways the media can kill the story to avoid the truth. This is beyond the media and their ability to lie it away. Only one man, and I mean that in the laxest sense, can put this to rest, and he is a fraud. And those of us who haven’t bought into the fraud know why Barry won’t do the simple thing. He can’t.
One thing that always stood out to me related to the BC issue is that I don't believe he even has a drivers license. I have never seen him drive any vehicle (other than a golf cart) in the past or the present. You definitely need a valid BC to obtain a drivers license.

What I have always “feared” is that should the time come when it is very apparent to the “powers that be” that Obama is going to be exposed as the fraud he is...he will be assassinated by the socialistic progressive left but will have hired some right wing nut job to do it...so, he will go down in history as a martyr rather than the despot fraudulent criminal he is. He will be revered by this nation as an assassinated President rather than one who was eliminated to protect those who put him in power...ie...George Soros et all. THAT will cause me more mental anguish than his being a fraud....the thought of him being elevated through his death...argggggg! Please, dear Lord, put a shield of protection around him for his life but bring him to his knees in other ways!

Also, what records department just up and decides to destroy paper records? Converting old ones to electronic format is common now, but I’ve never in the life of me heard of people whose job it is to MAINTAIN historic records doing something as assinine as destroying the originals afterwards. Wouldn’t they, at the least, make sure everything was on microfiche or scanned first?
I mean, even before the records were put in a modern electronic form, they must have been microfiched as a matter of course, so that people could order copies of the original without the Department having to dig through stacks of paper. Wasn’t that a standard practice for vital records in that era, or am I just delusional?
Trump is not an altogether admirable figure. To succeed in building in New York City, you have to be good at all the non-productive dark arts associated with urban Democratic politics. It’s not a capitalist enterprise. He’s also a publicity whore who loves to get on TV, and engage in stupid little public spats with the likes of Rosie O’Donnell. He also screwed over his bondholders and other creditors when corporations associated with Trump went bankrupt.
His latest gig is to license the name “Trump” so as to collect cash from the work of other builders, and then deny responsibility when condo buyers, relying upon the Trump name, claim that they got screwed.

He is not a charlatan, and he does warrant respect for his achievements in real estate, but this self-adoring guy is not exactly presidential timber. And I don’t think he wants to be President, else he wouldn’t go whole hog on the Birther stuff.

In one part, Trump says “Barack Obama”, but the captions transcribe it as “Brocco Problem”, lol!

I agree, he doesn’t seriously think he will win, but I think he wants to get in the debates and force the other candidates to acknowledge this issue. Whether that will be good or bad for Republicans remains to be seen, I guess.
