Shocking as it is for the press to get something about guns correct, they did manage to get this one right... Most DO fire .223 caliber bullets (they even got this part right), although some fire the 6.8mm, as well as other cartridges.

Well...if you really want to get picky...they fire a 5.56 round.
The 223 is the civilian version of the round.
just sayin is all...
