My wife and I are thinking about taking our daughters out of public school and homeschooling.

If you - or any other Freepers - have links to sites that have good info on this subject would you please post or Freepmail us?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Homeschooling Legal Defense Association Their site is a good place to start.

Then contact your local homeschooling association. Check Google for associations in your state. Your library may have a list, and of course the Homeschooling Legal Defense Association.

My homeschoolers are adults now. We were among the pioneers in our community. It is soooooo much easier now.

By the way...We found it was actually cheaper to homeschool than to send our kids to government school. Just the savings in school clothing alone paid for the curriculum we bought, and there were no activity or school trip fees. I would not allow my children to take the school bus so we had gas savings as well.

( Our adventures with the school bus is a topic for another post. In two consecutive years children were crushed to death by our county school buses....very sad.)
