She harkens back to an era when (most) Democrats were our opponents but not the enemies of America.

Yes, I remember that era well, and it's tragic that it's no longer the case.

Growing up in the rural South, that was the only kind of Democrat I knew, nothing like today's freak show and Soros minions.

Geraldine, RIP.

You were an American.

You were decent.

You were respectful.

Like Liz, the last of a genre in the democratic party.

She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1998

Horrible disease. She must've suffered but you wouldn't know it from her appear on Fox's 2010 election coverage.

Saw her in person once, a number of years ago, in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. It was just in passing but she acknowledged my wife and I with a nice smile. Always had a great deal of respect for this fine woman, in spite of her being a democrat.

That’s not true.

She saw Hillary between 1993 and 2001. “You elect me, you get her.” That was NOT a lie.

She also saw Obama get sworn in.

That’s two right there.

Unlike both Ferraro and Palin, who got where they were on their own merits, Hillary rode on the coattails of the debauched climber with whom she had a political alliance (not marriage).

Relative to either Palin or Ferraro, Hillary is nothing.

Ah yes, Democrats like Zell Miller. They are extinct in today's freak show of a party (good description!).

And until the Dem party wises up, throws off Soros, Obama, and the radical left and becomes American again, it will continue to decline into oblivion.

Can I just ask this:

How can a person be decent but hold all opposite views from you? Is it just because they aren’t physically attacking you?

Maybe I will put it another way: Since you both never agreed on anything, explain how you arrive at the conclusion she was a “decent” person?

Sarah Palin on Fox News right now. She’s giving a very passionate tribute to Geraldine. You can hear her fighting back tears. Sarah is amazingly gracious

I have a test for who is really pro-life. Anyone who says, “There are good people on both sides of this issue” is someone who is just exploiting the issue, and hasn’t really thought about it much.

And you’ll notice that pro-aborts NEVER say “There are good people on both sides of this issue.”

Palin and Ferraro have a deep connection simply because they’re the only two females ever to be a part of a major party’s presidential run. I would imagine that Ferraro’s death does have a pretty big impact on Palin.

“Mondale was one of the most forgettable candidates in recent US history.”

I always thought he was most memorable since he allowed Ronald Reagan to win the largest number of electoral votes in a presidential race in U.S. history.

I was deeply saddened MN and DC gave him its electoral votes, as otherwise Reagan would have won the greatest landslide in U.S. presidential history.

Prayers for her and her family. I didn’t agree with her on everything, but she was an old-style Dem and I didn’t feel that she hated the US. And she always seemed to me to be a decent person.
