Can someone please tell us again, why we are even bothering with this african mess? And why are we fraternizing with the enemy, aside of course, from the fact that Obama is one of them. We have no dog in this hunt and we have already spent far too many millions of dollars on Tomahawks.

The “enemy of my enemy is my friend” thing didn’t work with Irag against the Iranians, and it for damn sure isn’t going to work here. The rebels are AQ. If Quackie the Duck is overthrown, Libya will be trading one atrocious regime for another. Either way, the Libyan people lose.

I’ve always said Saudi would be the first weapons stash for AQ once the monarchy got its just rewards, but I was wrong now I hear AQ has some of K’Daffy’s MANPADs.

The first thing that was mentioned about intervention in Libya came from the French. France gets oil from Libya. Hmmm. Obviously President sarKozy asked Obama to get involved. Obama said, okay. Obama and the so-called coalition of the willing then received approval from the Arab League and the UN. For some reason Obama did not ask for the "okay" from the US Congress. Most Americans would enjoy seeing Gaddafi finally get whats coming to him --- DEATH! But this is not the time or the place. America has not been attacked or even threatened by Gaddafi. Without a doubt, the Libya rebels have strong ties to some form of terrorism --- aka. Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, Hamas or Hezbollah. This could develope into a royal screwed up mess. Obama has no idea wtf he's doing.

>>>>>>We have no dog in this hunt

Agreed.

"We have no dog in this hunt and we have already spent far too many millions of dollars on Tomahawks."

I agree. Our involvement in this affair is idiotic. No no-fly zones. No Tomahawks, no nothing except for perhaps some drones so we can monitor what's going on. We can never have enough intelligence.

But, I would point out (just as a point of fact) that those Tomahawks don't last forever. I'm not sure what their useful life is (I'm not even sure if it's unclassified), but it's not forever. Put another way, if we don't eventually use them, we lose them and they have to be scrapped. It's not an excuse to use them here, but it might be handy information to have if we have to use them in the future (for a genuine mission in our own self-interest), and some leftist bitches about the costs.
