Only to point this out...but it doesn’t matter what ethnic group you are...once you figure out that you can afford a house out away from the city (in a safer neighborhood), then you will move. Cities like St Louis, Omaha, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philly, and Madison are in the same path. Over the next forty years...we will all be shocked as inner cities across the US are vacated and other cities become like Detroit in the end.

In many cities, the inner city may recover due to gentrification. Doubt that will ever happen in Detroit though—too far gone. They will eventually have to bulldoze much of it down and re-establish parks (or even farms).

Cities ought to become a thing of the past. We’ll still need some industrial/transport functions—airports, shipping ports. Outside of that, what is the point of having a city? I have no use for them at all.
