We need cities to keep liberals concentrated and contained away from me.

I live 70 miles from Detroit and about 30 miles from Ann Arbor and you would think we were deep in the bible belt from the conservative attitudes around here.

I know what you mean. I'm in northwestern New Jersey, about 50 miles or so from NYC, and yet it's basically NASCAR country out here--hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, etc.

I wonder--do cities create liberals, or do liberals create cities? If there were fewer cities, would there be fewer liberals?

Exactly, rural Michigan is probably the most “Southern” of any place north of the Mason-Dixon Line.
