I was thinking about the Libya thing. I thought about Palin's position, then I thought about the position Patton would take. I give you Patton: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh9S1Hk975U
I’m leaning more and more toward Gershwin’s position:
“Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off”
You have to love Patton. Even if he is George S. Scott.
It should have been posted under "FAIL".
I think Patton’s heart was in the right pace, and I think he was correct when he suggested attacking the U.S.S.R. He lamented that we always leave one more war to be fought. And I agree, If we would be willing to win, then we could end wars.
I can feel the love. I know you like me Humble. That is why you follow me around. I don’t remember posting to one of your threads.
‘If we would be willing to win, then we could end wars.’
To end wars we must first repeal Original Sin.
No, I do not believe that. Original sin occurred when there where only two people. An argument between husband and wife is not a war.
War is part of the burden placed on all humans in penalty of Original Sin, which was not in any way a fight between husband and wife. The sin was the agreement between husband and wife to disobey God.
That would be George C. Scott playing George S. Patton
To a point, but She betrayed her husband and that is why we are where we are today; therefore, I hold it as a domestic issue, and absolve myself of the matter.
I just think he was a good actor. sometime the Character is more important that the person, that is all I am saying.
Wrong.
Maybe over activism.
No. The First Parents disobeyed the one and only rule that they were given by God. “Thou shalt not eat...”
By that disobedience they lost their communion with the Creator. Every person born into the world has the same opportunity as did Adam and Eve - to obey or disobey.
It’s harder for us, I would say, because sin is all around us and temptation everywhere. But, we still have free will to chose.
Gershwin also wrote, “The Things in the Bible ain’t neccesarily so”.
Gershwin was no friend of pastors who preached to get money, as many did in his day.
That is what I was saying. War is not the produce of original sin. Individual choice is the produce of original sin.
expound.
We have war because of disobedience to the revealed laws of God. You disagree with that?
