Chauncey Bailey trial jurors see grisly autopsy photo {Your Black Muslim Bakery murders}

OAKLAND -- Jurors in the Chauncey Bailey murder trial flinched -- and some looked away -- Thursday morning when shown an autopsy photo of a face blasted away by shotgun pellets.

Prosecutor Melissa Krum displayed the photo on a large screen as the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy, Dr. Thomas Rogers, described the wound. One juror, a bald man in glasses, grimaced noticeably.

Defendants Yusuf Bey IV and Antoine Mackey glanced at the photo and then looked away.

It showed what Rogers described as an eight-inch wound of his "face bones, brain, skull, teeth."

Krum asked Rogers the condition of Bailey's left eye.

"It was basically destroyed," Rogers replied.

The man who has admitted firing a 12-gauge shotgun at Bailey's face as he lay dying of two other wounds, Devaughndre Broussard, is expected to take the stand later Thursday morning.

He has admitted to killing Bailey, the editor of the Oakland Post, at Bey IV's alleged order and told the grand jury in 2009 that Mackey helped him carry out the hit.

Lawyers for Bey IV and Mackey asked Rogers no questions.

Lawyers for Bey IV and Mackey asked Rogers no questions and they're still at trial after the jury saw such a photo.

That's some top-drawer legal defense there, huh.

What could he ask?

The photo was merely a demonstration of the gruesome nature of the crime, and the method of the murder (shotgun). In fact, some might say it was prejudicial to show that photo, as it could inflame the jury into making an immediate judgment.

Asking questions could only be perceived as an attempt to defend obvious guilt, which the photo doesn’t establish.

It was obvious that a man was murdered with a shotgun and it might have been prudent for the defense to let it go at that.

“One juror, a bald man in glasses”

Is it legal to describe jurors like that?

This is a homegrown muslim terrorist group.

In fact, some might say it was prejudicial to show that photo, as it could inflame the jury into making an immediate judgment.

Looks like one of the folks stitting at the defendant's table has already stated that he did it.

I admit, the facts of the case are kind of inflammatory, but it seems like that's the shooter's doing, if you ask me. Mr. Bailey was already on the ground, having been hit twice previously, when the defendant decided to see what a shotgun could do to his face:

The man who has admitted firing a 12-gauge shotgun at Bailey's face as he lay dying of two other wounds, Devaughndre Broussard, is expected to take the stand later Thursday morning.

An acquaintance of mind use to be an Alameda County Deputy Sheriff but has been retired for a number of years. He has told me that Oakland has some of the most dangerous radicals around and many are closely associated with the Black Muslims. In his words these people are “super dangerous” and some of the most vicious people you would ever come across. So much for the compassionate liberal attitude that was supposed to occur in a city like Oakland. This killing confirms what this former deputy sheriff told me years ago, before any of this happened.

Good catch.
I was completely focused on the use of the photographs.
